I would grab an HK-91, a Mossberg 500, and my Beretta 92 (she may not be as sexy as other pistols but I know she will go bang every time I need her to).

Honestly, I'd likely have my Baby Eagle .45 on my hip, as usual. My Norinco SKS with the ammo pack. Hunker down in a defensible location with my cached supplies, and wait for the idjits to either kill each other, wander up in the mountains and be killed by the folks living up there, or die of exposure/thirst/dysentery/feral dogs/hunger. Don't start no sh!t, won't be no sh!t... I wouldn't run a generator, wouldn't erect fortifications, nothing to attract attention. Trespassers would likely be dealt with as quietly as possible (did I mention the crossbow?). Oh yeah... 10/22 for filling the stew pot, and dealing with "pests"...lots of ways to make that quiet.
My wife and I each have our leg holsters for our MP5's, my 91, I am sure she would take the AR or 2000, and of course a couple 45's most likely the mk23 and a 1911 or two. You know I was thinking also, the kids have backpacks... [ROFL1]
I'll be grabbing my XD9. That's all I have for now. te he he
Sadly, I only have two at the moment, the SIG 229 .40 cal, and the .223 AR, I'd grab both.
I only have 2 so that's easy - Colt 6920 & my Beretta M9.
The wife isn't convinced that I really need a Barrett .50 cal. Women!

It is a way to have a mag ready but not in the gun.
Great OPSEC here.
All anyone really needs is a good towell...
I was thinking a lot more about that today. was watching the news on the tornadoes. people had 17 minutes warning was it. when I get home I am going to really sit down and get my gear together so I can be out within 5 minutes and rolling.
...and peril sensitive sunglasses.
Seriously!!!!!!
M1A, 1911 and toilet paper. Everything else is a luxury
Grabbing my AK, my Glock 22, Springfield 1911 GI, Ka-Bar (not a gun but useful), POF P415 and my survival kit and loading up in the truck and going to the nearest gun store and yelling "Friendly!" and helping them clear out all the important guns and ammo and heading for my friend's cabin outside Breckenridge...
Oh and before I forget, liquor store, don't think the Asian who runs the local store will object to me snagging some booze with a .45 in his face. [Beer]
yup. well armed shop owners and family (many ex military) drove off the looters, and when the gang members showed up to get they get backs, they got their asses handed to them.
In SHTF I would avoid gun stores, liquor stores, malls and shopping centers like the plague.
My go-to guns right now would be my G36, G17, and AK. Along with an ontario fighting knife, and a folder (kerhaws and spyderco) clipped to every pocket.
things still aren't exactly where I want them, gear wise.
need to get optics for my AR so it can take the place of the AK as el mero mero, and get my FLC vest fitted and set up. also need to get a G20.
also need to get a tomahawk and a gladius. I'd get one of those fancy ones from that other thread, but they're too godawful expensive.
oooh and a spear. a spear would be awesome. have to see if cold steel makes spears.
I'm grabbing my SOCOM16 and HK USP tactical... and 2 ammo boxes. My first option would be running up to the airport and try to jump a little Cessna or anything that can fly on regular gasoline... Then I'd just go hop state to state up to Canada or something... I'd like to go to either east or west coast if there weren't tsunami's to worry about.
Ohh... and yea.. I don't know how to fly... but I will learn how to pretty quick... [Coffee]
Too young to remember, but one advantage I have is the tactical one- training and experience- that's why rule #1 before approaching anything is recon, recon, recon. If it looks like a soft target, assume it's hard, if it looks like a hard target verify without compromising your position.
I'd grab whatever was closest and within my ability. This is such an open ended question.....is the "ship going down" going to be a planned, announced event? Do you roll around to work and your daily "norm" with an AK, a Garand, an AR, etc.? If you get home...sure. If you're a swat member, and at work that day - then yeah, an MP5 and a sniper rifle are going to be sitting right there next to you, right? LOL
This makes you part of the problem in my eyes, friend. SHTF means no more morals right? Survival is more then just physically surviving....and you didn't even wait for it to become a matter of survival. The minute there was no percieved threat of punishment or retribution, you chose to take what another had built or worked for because it was easier. Don't be a grasshopper LOL.
I was in middleschool when the riots happened. And my liberal teacher didn't want to talk about people defending themselves instead of how they shouldn't have guns like she was saying, typical libtard. I tried carrying my ak with full battle pack and a mauser with a sidearm and just walking up a few little hills really kicked my ass. Just saying you might want to stay light when on foot.
I hate how most teachers are libs... and they hate my arguments against them when I tell them I'm a veteran of Afghanistan and we can't condemn those people just because some of America wants our troops home now.
Also, doing ruck marches with a 70lb pack, full kit, and carrying an M240B crew-served machine gun while in the military has conditioned me to carry an M4, AK, ammo and sidearm, but yes, running is out of the question. I think I'll save up for a good ATV with some custom weapon mounts.
