I'll probably be able to get to this shoot.
If anyone lives down south (Pueblo area), head east. When I lived in Cheraw the high school kids would get truck loads of watermelons and throw them all over town because of the surplus. It would get so bad that they would have to use snow plows to clear the roads.
I'm sure that you could find a farmer that would let you take quite a few off their hands.
im in pueblo west, what part of east
Rocky Ford, La Junta, etc.
Oh man! Wife just reminded me we have a commitment for the 21st.
What location is the shooting at?
The north spot.
Marlin,
Where is the North spot? Thanks man.
About 4 threads up from this one is one calledQuote:

2ndChildhood,
Sweet, thank you. Im game.
I plan on attending! :P My sister-in-law lives in Allenspark so I will be close by. I do not own an AR-15 [or such] but will just watch the action.
I hope there will be some time to shoot handguns.
Any word on name badges? I think I will make one on the computer with my forum name!!!!
Cu u there.... [postal]
You'll see pistols & everything else being shot in no particular order.
Here's an example from last shoot:

Our shoots have few rules.
Bring what you got, shoot what you brung.
Be friendly, introduce yourself, share.
Don't forget the "official" rules
Looks like fun! Thanks for the info!
Well, a friend of mine asked me to help him out with a martial arts demo, and I said yes before realizing that it's on the same day as the shoot. Thing 'll probably go from 11 to 2ish, in Broomfield, so I'm screwed.
4 days til the shoot & nobodys talking about it?
Fine wth me since I can't go. It would just make me feel bad anyway.

I'm ready for it! I just hope it isn't too cold and/or snowy!Quote:

Hey Marlin do you think you could orgainize a group photo at the shoot? I think it would be good P.R. for the club with all the new T-Shirts and Flag. What do you say? http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y22...AR15Avatar.gif [usa]
I'll be there with my girlfriend and my new 590a1!
I still plan on being there. If all goes right I will be there. Dunno how long I will stay. Long enough to destroy some steel targets. how else are you supposed to spend your birthday.
oh and by the way I don't need a .308 any longer. I gave the ammo to a friend.
Part of my sportsman's guide order should be here tomorrow, the other part is ground shipping and may not arrive in time but it's just pistol ammo (of which I have plenty) and a few other things. Hopefully my ARFCOM EE order will get here this week.
Shopping list for Friday at Sportsman's warehouse:
wolf .308
birdshot
target stand (for sighting in, assuming i get the scope/base in time)
?
I just hope this snow melts by then.
Amen brother! Let's hope so.Quote:

How does weather effect the get togethers?
cold only slows us down.. rain and snow on the other hand.....Quote:

Ditto what 7 said. Cold won't stop me but snow and rain (especially rain) will.Quote:

I'm going to do my best to get there, assuming the weather is cooperative. I need to switch out my summer tires for my all-seasons anyway.
I take my sports car up there, you should be fine. It's right off the side of the highway.
I drive a Celica, it can make it. (Hold the stupid jokes) Karl.
9News.com is predicting 40F with clouds on Saturday. Unless it rains I'll be there at 0930. I purchased a folding picnic table at SW yesterday so I can zero a scope and I'll bring some folding lawn chairs with me. This is my first club shoot so I'm not sure what to bring other than lots of ammo [postal]
Are you going to be at the shooting location that early, or the meet/convoy location?Quote:

Weather for Allenspark (nearby) according to Weather Channel...
Tonight: Variable clouds with numerous
snow showers or flurries expected. Low
near 25F. Winds NNW at 10 to 20 mph.
Chance of snow 70%. 2 to 4 inches of
snow expected.
Sat: Snow flurries and snow showers.
Cold. High 32F. Winds N at 5 to 10
mph. Chance of snow 60%.
Radio told me the foothills could get up to 9" overnight.
Not sure about this one, we'll see how it looks in the AM.
Since I live in North Boulder I was just going to show up at the location. But it depends upon the weather. Snow, cold and drizzle don't bother me although it would be nice to see what we're shooting at. Rain on the other hand would be a bummer.Quote:
