Actually- according to many forum members, we need more action of this type in order to push for our open carry rights and show people what responsible people the open carryers are. You know, not to simply roll over in the face of opposition from those on the other side. Guess we should be applauding this guy for having the courage to stand up for our open carry rights!!! I tried the Prep H, it didn't even begin to treat my soreness!!! All kidding aside, I've not had my opinion in that case changed in the slightest. This current deal perfectly exemplifies how stupid it -can- be to open carry. I still think most people do it simply to make a point, and not because they actually "need" to. Here we have the most perfect example of that attitude.
I also believe that the type of firearm caused the concern. That is too large of a firearm to carry around just to have it on you incase something goes down. No normal person walks around with that firearm on a daily basis. It would get annoying and you would eventually downsize to something more practical that fits on your waist. So that just leaves crazy people and people who want to create fear in others.
