Bill is dead according to Denver Post: http://www.denverpost.com/breakingne...-before-senate
Saw that on Friday. Thank goodness. My daughter is a CSU student, and I can't think of anything stupidier and more fear-based than banning carry on campus. Apparently, oppponents fail to realize that to get a CCW permit you have to go through a stringent background check, including finger printing. To think that anyone who would subject themselves to the process for the legal right to carry concealed is a danger, is pure ignorance and fear.
Maybe we need to push for mandatory gun training and safety in schools?
Oh, but this bill is only tabled until May 10, along with Senator Morse's strict liability bill. If you heard his little rant before he moved to table his bill, it was scary. It is frightening to hear an elected official talk about getting rid of guns as "Cleansing a sickness from our souls doesn't come easy. It's gruesome," as Sen. Morse did when he withdrew his bill.
Does anyone else see coming what I do?
No doubt they''ll take another shot at this. We need to be vigilant and LOUD. Th session ends 8 May, effectively killing these proposals, but it isn't unheard of for the session to be extended...
They are aware of the process to obtain a CCW, well aware of it. HOWEVER they could give 2 shits, it's an agenda and one they will force on us by legislation or EO of the gov himself. Bloomberg , Soros and VPC have very very deep pockets and not afraid to put money, ideas and let's face it threats, to work.
