There's a few discussions on line about the rpr hand guard cant.
Shimming the brake requires a few different sized spacers. Did you buy a .308 shim kit? it's usually found next to suppressors in most LGS

I own 2 Samson evolution rails on my ar's so I might help, but it will require you to take off your optic. First, flip the rifle upside down and place flat on a leveled table. Losses the the Handgaurd retaining screws. Flatten out out Handgaurd and slowly retite the screws. For best results use adjustable clamps.
I got the Precision Armament M11, it came with a bunch of precisely sized spacers with a little chart of what to try first and what to use next. Pretty nice except that where I think it needs to be is like perfectly between them. Might try filing down one of the washers sometime. And it may be on me, since I'm just using a cloth and a pipe wrench to tighten it down, no vices either. Don't have a torque wrench so unsure if it actually can be tightened down quite a bit more but don't think so.
Neat @ carry handle idea. Finally a use for those antiques. So if I had a old picatinny scope riser that's like 6 inches, I could probably use that?
I had the m11 brake and you need to put it in a barrel vice and crank it down on the shim and it will fit perfect. Love that brake (everyone else will hate you though).
With a little load work I've gotten a pretty decent group with mine in .243.

Very nice, that's the beauty of reloading. Tailoring the load to the gun.
That group is from the factory barrel?
