Don't you love how they just beat you over the head with the plot, like it's sooo difficult to follow? Society must be incredibly dumbed-down if this is now a requirement.
Thanks for the info.

Shows beating me over the head with the plot would be far preferrable to them beating me over the head with politics.
Agree. What i'm disappointed in is the new Dr whoette was good in the bbc series Broadchurch. Hoping she'd bring some of that in to Dr. Who. Sadly it didn't happen.
What i find more ludicrous is. Here's a british show trying (IMO) to lecture and preach to me / us about how bad America was through some of the incidents of history. Not only that, the liberties they took with (again IMO) with some of the stereotypical characters was pathetic.
One would believe some of the people involved still had a bad taste in their mouth over that whole colonies revolting 1776 thing. Plus in complete denial how bad the british empire was to anyone other than to the "manor born"
They pushed it a little in Good Omens.
The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse became: War (Red Horse), Famine(Black Horse), Death(Pale Horse), and get this... Pollution (should be disease/pestilence (White Horse)) .
They also had one or two anti gun lines, but it was more subtle than Dr. Who. There may have been more that I missed as I was bing watching and multitasking a little too on some beers.
Finally another season of Mindhunter begins this friday.
Netflix.
As mentioned, The Boys, on amz was worth it.
Just starting episode two of The Boys.
We already finished The Boys. I can't believe they were able to kill Homeland like that.
...just kidding. [Coffee]
Interesting show. Looking forward to Season 2. Maybe they'll make the season a bit longer? 8 episodes is not enough.
I like the overall theme of The Boys. The inconsistency of the laser eyes bothers me, but that's about it so far.
Reminds me a bit of Brandon Sanderson's SteelHeart, but a little darker.
I think they take the idea in an interesting direction with the military connection, but I'm surprised that no one has drawn a connection to police brutality and gotten butt hurt over it.
I think the characters are modeled after DC characters. I definitely see a Superman, Aquaman, Wonder Woman, and Flash.
Watched Aquaman on HBO last night. Kind of a fun watch !!
That's what they used to say about...

You're right. The trigger sobbing over stupid shit has gotten way out of hand. Sarah Silverman is the latest example. She's currently on her Crucifixion Apology tour. Saying she, as a liberal, regrets doing a blackface skit in 07. BUT has since moved on and become a better person for her unacceptable behavior.
.
Just saw a trailer for a Watchmen series on HBO. Had a weird vibe, but it is Watchmen.
Watched the new-ish Clint Eastwood movie The Mule this weekend.
Here's my review in five words:
Laconic Smoky and the Bandit.
Second season of Mindhunter is ok. Some worthwhile character development. Watchable but not as good as the first year imo.
At least they didnt hump it half as badly as what happened to True Detective in it's second season. That was truly a disappointment & the measure I use now for all second seasons...
Really hoping Altered Carbon fares because that is another show I look forward to (whenever that release will be...)
I think the first season of True Detective was so intense, they simply haven't been able to match it.
Fingers crossed on Altered Carbon. Hope it's worth the wait. Based on the story line, it could be a looong series if it's done right.
We've been binging Parks and Recreation. I have no idea how I missed that one. Must have been busy with real life when that show was on. My wife turned to me last night and said, Ron Swanson reminds me of *you*.
Parks and Rec is great, it really hits its stride in season 2.
I near forgot to say that in this season of MH, there's always a barking dog in the background. Im wondering if it's an inside joke similar to the gunfire @ Quantico.
I liked season 2 of True Detective.
I've still yet to hear if people liked S3 or not.
Yay Burt!
Last thing about Mindhunter, in the scene when they interview Jr., pay special attention to the malapropisms. I near fell out of my chair it was so funny watching Holden's responses & Jim just rolling with it & using the mallomars...
It might not be as funny to some as it was to me because I used to work with a guy like that & near lost my mind trying communicate with him each & every day.
I'll have to check those out. I did like My Name is Earl.
