Fuck no I didn't ask her dad.... I'm all for those that are into the old ways, but unfortunately, my life, is my life, and no one else has a say in it (except my wife now). When you clear out the whole needing approval from people, your life gets so much easier....

Mine was more like stating my intentions than asking permission, but I had to do it carefully because he was a recently retired colonel at the time and I was still a year away from commissioning.
