I had some gang bangers chase me downtown when I was a kid and show me the guns in the waist bands that they wanted to shoot me with. Also got cut off and had to lock up the brakes on my old Buick and some very helpful police officers decided it was best to come up to the car with a shotgun drawn to give a 17 year old kid 12 points of tickets for it.
many as a LEO, but one messed up cat yanked, without out, warning a samurai-looking sword from where it was stuffed between his back and his backpack, and then with two hands on it drew it over his head toward me . He was taken back a little when I dropped back and drew down on him.

Personally, the closest I've came to being shot was by a LEO that I thought was stealing my car. Went up shooting after buying some lasers (which were costly at the time like 04 ish) into death hand canyon. Long story short I left the brights on in my car to illuminate the canyon which was basically pitch black. Car drove up, didn't turn on it's overheads, so basically I thought I was getting jacked at around 10pm which I really wasn't in the mood for. So I walked back towards the car with an AR in the ready position. I had been shooting without ear protection the day before so having actual ear protection in and the previous day made me hear like... Nothing. I actually got past the brights cautiously and found myself face to face with a gun at my head. Once I determined he was a officer (after looking at the car, not his uniform) I simply put up my left arm and slowly lowered my rifle in my right. Then as he issued commands and quickly lowered his firearm I indicated I could not hear him and removed my ear plugs. Everything ended well. He checked our guns to make sure we weren't firing full auto as reported and went on his way. I think there are few thinks that make your butthole pucker like walking around a bright light and then seeing a gun to your head.
Pulling rangers from a hot LZ in Afghanistan. Had to have some orthoscope procedure done to pull airframe aluminum and bullet fragments from my left knee. Was also one of the times I had to fire at people.
Afghanistan. Our COP got in contact 2-3 times a day, and we usually went out 3 times a day on top of that.
I figure we all have some story re: CCW, it'd be cool to see them in one place.
I'll start I suppose..
So back in June, before I even applied for my CCW, I was at Autozone picking up a battery. I was standing in line behind two relatively "normal" Colfaxish Aurora folks in the "I need a part" line. A scruffy looking guy walks in, grabs whatever he needs, and is now the only one in the "I got my stuff, and need to pay" line. One of the Autozone employees goes over to check the scruffy dude out, and one of the guys in front of me start freaking out, about how long they've been waiting, and they "better not check him out first, or else". Now granted, the guys in front of me were in the wrong line to begin with, happens all the time, I get it.. So the employee is checking out the guy who flipped out. Meanwhile the scruffy dude has a folding knife in his right hand, flipping it open and closed repeatedly, meanwhile mean-mugging everyone in the store. My only thought was, "crap it'd be good to have a CCW right now, and I've got a gun in the car for personal protection, but... it's in the flippin' car".. If this dude starts attacking folks, all I've got is this 50lb battery.
Anyway, the first guy left, and then the scruffy dude checked out and left. I wasn't able to get a plate #, it was too dark out, and the dude sped off. Apparently the scruffy dude was a regular, per the Autozone employee.

Pretty sure we have a thread for this somewhere around here (since Hbar is probably busy making holsters, I've got his back on reposts).
I was walking home after getting a cup of coffee one morning and had to cut through an alley to get back to my apartment. A rather large person followed me and approached me about 20-30 yards into the alley. The guy got pretty close and said "give it up" and came at me. I reached back for the pistol in my belt. As soon as he saw what I was doing he ran away much faster than I'd expect a man his size could run. While I did get my hand on the grip he was gone before I even touched the pistol.
And your encounter is not measured in any statistic but we all know it happens all the time.
