NO, Rebecca, you do not get any hints.
Um, dancing on a roof!
After talking to the customers service, I had to cancel the online tire order. order was stuck and have issues. My guess is it was out of stock.
My car is on jack stands and a jack (as a backup), and I gotta go to weatridge to get 2 tires replaced. Out of all the tire stores, the weatridge store is only ones that carries the specific tire. :(
Sheesh ! First world problems...
You are in Thornton, so a trip to Wheatridge isn’t such a bad trip.
How fortunate that anyone had them at all :)
“There’s a hole in my head where the rain comes in”.......
Wear an aluminum hat.
Geesh, google what song that line is from.....
Im a
'head like a hole black as your soul'
Kinda girl. Sorry I missed that.
Well it is no longer a joke if you have explain it........ I was going to call you an Evil Woman, EW for short.......
Hmm, I thought people on here who knew what I do would make better guesses. I can say that so far, hunting may not happen, as I may not be around.
Well there you go. I don't know you at all so of course my guess is terrible.
Sounds a bit ominous.
Having dinner with Dean Winters?
You’re going to ascend to become a higher life form ?
Sorry, too many Sci-Fi books.....
<- Not a tweaker
Although I am a bit OCD so yeah, it probably applies. Close enough.
I also say POIT! a whole lot & just when I'm about to make a point I ofte...SQUIRREL!!
Hmmm. I plan on driving away from my house tomorrow morning (but now it's likely going to be late morning).
Anyway.....FUCK THIS TOILET!
Can you believe this 64 year-old ass bitch rusted out?! Surprisingly enough, the far side that is intact is the one where the bolt just completely disappeared. One day (yesterday) wife was like, "Are you going to fix our toilet?" I take a look, "Where is this bolt?" She responds, "I have no idea, the cats probably did it."

So does the standard repair kit fit? Of course not! The only thing standard back in '54 was racism and beating women when they burned the chicken. I thought the 12 o'clock and 6 o'clock holes would fit a 5/16x18 thread, but nooooooo. So I tediously drilled through the existing steel plate in order to sink some concrete anchors (my house is on slab). Did that work? You bet your ass it didn't work. There is nothing under the existing ring but dirt and the occasional root. So, since I had the holes already drilled, I took a shot in the dark and used a 5/16x18 tap (the very first one I grabbed out of the drawer) and tapped all the holes. The tap didn't break until the last one, and it was still usable.

I gave my wife the task of learning how to compare thread pitch and finding some comparable bolts in the nuts and bolts drawer in my tool box. Success.

I put the wax ring on the base like I have every other time I've replaced one, and it would not seat properly.

It's back together, but I'm not really satisfied with it. I've got no choice though, since I'm leaving in the morning.

Thanks to my life coach for throwing suggestions my way on this repair. Thanks to my wife for sitting with me in the bathroom the entire time at my request.
You did add the wax ring right?
Btw toilet fixing is a shitty job....pun intended
Yeah, I screwed up the first wax ring, I had a second (and three more) on hand so I got it seated.
Dude every time I have to put in a wax ring I buy three, to date I still don't have any wax rings in the home inventory so that should indicate my track record [shithitsfan]
Btw good job, she looks sturdy enough to take a shit on [Beer]
I'm very new to the world of taps and dies, and feel like I've been missing out my entire life.
oh the wonders to be had when you can fix a hole the proper way [Beer]
Dirt & roots. Eeesh
A buddy of mine bought a tap set from harbor freight thinking it would be like what I own. [LOL]
I finally found a photo editor that doesnt suck. (Say 'doesn't suck' in your best Sean Connery voice). This is my test post. Those fun Mad Maxesque cars I saw in Old Brighton a while back.
Now, where did I put that kayak....
Irving Goes to Florida (An Ernest Enterprises production).
There we go. I was actually counting on CalSct to pick up the slack, well done. Haven't left yet though.
RE: those cars. I don't know where you get the idea of Mad Max. If you had just posted those pictures without any context, I would have said, "Looks like someone drove through Old Brighton, Thornton, Golden, Commerce City, Byers, etc."
Now that you mention it, Irving does look like Ernest P. Worrell...........

Only merely half joshing. Nice car pics.
I was going to post about my grandfather, believe it or not. I feel like half of the tools I use now when I fix things came from his garage. Even yesterday when my forced observer (wife) knocked stuff down the sink drain, I grabbed a flexible grabber thing, put a magnet on the and let her go to town. The taps of course came from him as well.
I'll have to find that thread for Rebekah, I'm sure she would have enjoyed that shop.
