On another note, I'm bummed that there apparently any more work down here. I was hoping I could make enough to buy a property and VRBO it. Even though these properties probably have a bit of a touristy premium as far as price, they are CHEAP compared to Denver prices. I think the most I've seen something insured was only $400,00 something. Some of my favorite properties are on an acre lot that is heavily treed, detached garage with a dock right onto a fresh water lake and the dwelling is insured for only like $140k. Whole thing probably goes for $300k, but you could easily pay the mortgage only renting it out half the year.

Hey Irving, I have property in Gulf Breeze, just outside Pensacola. If you are still down there, I would appreciate it if you could ride by and give me an idea of what to do with it. The seawall has failed, because the next door neighbor has no seawall and the land has eroded to the point where my seawall has failed.

I think I have an action against the neighbor, but, hey he's a neighbor, right? My seawall wasn't perfect, by any means, but it was $40k when I built it 13 years ago, and now $60k to replace.

Not Hurricane Michael related, it had failed before then.

You could buy more around here, rent it weekly, monthly or 6 mth increments and pay it off early. Plus there's at least one local person to "oversee" the property while you're out of state.

The comedian Hannibal Buress does that. He's got a bunch of apartments that he rents, then sub-leases them all, I think with an AirBnB or VRBO deal. So when one is occupied, he just goes and lives in another one. Since he's on the road a lot, that works out well for someone like him.

I do know that some states, and maybe even counties, you have a case against your neighbors' negligence with their land (like if they regrade their property, then all the sudden your place floods), but some places the state, county, city whatever doesn't care.

Drew Estate is my favorite cigar manufacturer. The first day I came in and was like, "I'm going to check out your humidor and see if you have any Drew Estate stuff."
This is the back wall and ALL of it is Drew Estate. I was only familiar with like 10 of the boxes on the whole wall (they don't stock my single favorite though The Root).

Remember how I've been bitching about the lack of good beers here? Today I found that the Walmart liquor store has the widest variety I've found yet, and all of the stuff that I even consider looking at is not even in a cooler! Anyway, I ask the lady at the cigar shop if I can hang out in their lounge and work on my lap top and smoke a cigar with what I assume are a bunch of locals. She says of course (I just bought a case of cigars after all). I'm sitting there and I notice that people are drinking beer, and think about asking if I can grab a beer out of my car since I just left Wal-mart, but decide not to be that guy. A few minutes later the owner is like, "Who wants beers?" Thinking that everyone is locals and buddies I raise both my hands just to be funny. He busts out a growler of Funky Buddha and starts pouring everyone, even me a glass. This beer is stellar.

I find out that like two of the guys are locals, everyone else are guys just like me who are in town for work, but they've all been hanging out there every night for weeks and are fast friends. A few minutes later the owner announces that he just ordered pizza, cheese sticks, and Cinnabuns, then starts pouring everyone a few fingers of this scotch to try. It's not just scotch, it's Macallan 12 year Sherry Oak and is the best scotch I've ever had in my life.

I'm just so impressed at the treatment I got. I was just a guy that walked in off the street and bought some cigars, them some more, then a bunch more. I've been in place where the second you walk in, the guy behind the counter frowns and follows you around the entire time to make sure you're not stealing anything. I guess they had a big Drew Estate party on Wednesday. I really wanted to go, but didn't have time.

Colorado should have more cigar shop like this.
