How was your wife's party?
It was great. She hired a caracature (sp) artist and a magician. I paid a ridiculous amount of money for some carnitas with beans and rice from the carnicer?a up the street. Didn't even get to try any. It ran out pretty fast, but we had enough other food that I'm not sure if anyone went unreasonably hungry.
That sounds like good entertainment, sort of reminds me when I wanted belly dancers & clowns at my wedding reception. Unfortunately no one followed up on the suggestion but almost as good... loveloveloved the look on everyone's faces when I said it at dinner. F*ing crickets, then smoke shot from everyone's ears as the gears ground through the pins & tacks of trying to process what I just tossed in their brain holes...
Yep. Good memories.
Did you put bells on your TP sling? That would have been amusing.
No ma'am.
Did I mention that it was an actual sling that I made years ago? Didn't think I did.
No Sir, you did not make mention until now.
I needed to borrow a chainsaw this summer, and I could not ask anyone here. :D
I just realized it was Monday afternoon. That means I have to work tomorrow. When will it end??!!!
Hrm... Chick sent me a PM asking WTH. Apparently, what I know as Iron Mikes is basically walking lunges, as that's what we called them in the Army -- typically we'd do them 50 yards out/50 yards back. It seems there's another exercise which involves jumping which also goes by the name (sort of a jumping/walking lunge thing? Bye knees). I would definitely not recommend jumping with weight. Heck, I wouldn't recommend the other exercise. Sounds awful on knees.
I know we talked about Golden Corral here.
My kid wanted to go , and we made it here before 4pm.
At least they have good rolls and salads.
Oh good to hear because what I thought you originally meant with the jack rabbit death throes, ain't gonna happen in my old age...
Still, if the measure is a timely, continuous string for that distance, with an additional 3 stone in hand... um, I've got some serious un-fun work ahead.
Thanks CavSct, you suck. ; )
Was thinking about loading up a pack and wearing it while walking the dog tonight as I need to actually get exercise and stop being a terrible dog Dad and actually walk her.
Ever wondered what it was like to be schizophrenic and have auditory hallucinations? Well enjoy this video then. Wear headphones, obviously.

Just listened to that, and it might not be a bad soundtrack for the gym.
Trash was just picked up
this is more motivational musically speaking.

Love this guy. Good vocalist, good clown, & a Theremin!
I'll suffer the song choice.
Piddles? Puddles?
Finding 3-1/2 inch tubing that isn't schedule 40, or thin exhaust pipe, is really being a pain in my ass....and finding someone to bend the tubing if I can find it.
Wiring still sucks because it's very time consuming, and I can't do my relays the way I initially wanted to....which was made fun of anyways...I did get an alternate but similar outcome figured out and the switch plate is ready for fabricating into a housing. Relay panel and circuit breaker plans are set, and bundled cabling is getting run along with getting lights mounted.
Progress at a slow pace is better than no progress I figure.
There's a nominal chance that nobody really gives a shit about this part, but I saw a substantially lifted truck over here in Commerce City West, and I stopped to take a look at it. Mid 2000 gas with what looked like good spring work, and it had a higher end shock system installed, electric side steps, and some other shit. So...I'm starting to look more closely at the frame/wiring/etc.... rats nest spaghetti wiring everywhere and "shit, I think this will be good enough" installation ideals. Hack much, bro? I can't imagine how messy stuff is behind the dash or under the hood.
I really don't want to be "that guy" as I put this thing together.
I was like you in that way once & more than a little. Very pleased with my level of quality when it comes to items I've built for me & mine. Hard lesson I learned sometime recently was there is a 'good enough' that is not anything like 'half a**ed' though I'm still not entirely convinced the message stuck...
Hey, Chick.
I'm trying to do this right, and there have been several times along the way that doing something faster and easier was an option. Kicking myself in the ass to try harder on that other stuff wasn't that bad....but yanking the chain on "easy wiring" is a bigger pill to manage at times. I do know I'll be better off in the end though.
JIC I may not have been clear... this project is for you & do it the way you want it done was my point. From what I've seen, the amount of thought & time you've invested, I suspect any 'good enough' you're faced with will shine by it's own merit & especially when measured by comparison.
Following? ; )
Thank you, Chick.
I appreciate it.
Hey, we got through Monday...woo hoo.
It'll be Wednesday before ya know it, and heading into another Friday. Let's get some videos cued up and video bomb Foggers Friday thread this weekend... :)
G'nite folks.
Watching/looking at some of the workmanship one of these kitchen guys is doing the last 2 days is driving me nearly insane.
I have one guy that is super detailed and one that is a bt of a turd. The turd is putting up the tile backsplash and the accent stripe of glass/stone isn't as neat and straight as I would like. I've actually gone back after he left and straightened some of it - after bringing it up twice already... There was one cracked tile and a piece of accent strip tile that was cracked that I had to point out. I suppose some of this will be hard to pick up once it's grouted, but it still bugs me. The damn things are on backer mat, how friggin hard is it to keep things straight?
I do make sure to tell the super guy what an awesome job he's doing and that I appreciate his attention to detail. He did all the baseboard trim, handles, door alignment, and a few other finish items. I'm hoping he'll be the one to finish the tile work and grout/joint caulk as the other guy can't make it back Tue or Wed and we're scheduled to finish Friday with Final (wood) floor coating going in Thursday.
I hear ya. Had to suffer the idiot or lazy contractor more than once myself. Even worse when I knew I was the one being hired to come in & clean up what they were bungling. By nudge or by shove.
