Today I learned you aren't an American unless you only speak English.

You all seem to forget you are descended from a bunch of Germans, British, Italians, Chinese, etc.

Actually not what people are saying. I have several friends of mixed race/nationality marriage who thought the ad creepy. It seemed to imply that everyone of non-beige pigment was foreign. One friend's Filipino wife tweeted out how she hated the ad.

I liked the Budweiser, Radio Shack and Tim Tebow commercials. The TurboTax commercial opened funny and closed flat.

That IS what Jer is saying. That you're not allowed to say the national anthem unless you speak it in perfect, unnaccented English.

...who came here by legal methods and spoke English because they were grateful for the opportunity they were given that would not have been available in the country they left. Too many today are here illegally and then, for reasons known to me, try to recreate whatever the left here usually at the determent of our own nation/society. Yeah, I have a problem with this. Hyphenated American's will be the decline of this society. You want to be an American? Then be a damn American.

And what difference does that make in what language the song was sang in? Are you required to drop your native language when you become a citizen? How do you know those people were illegal immigrants in that video?

Where did I say the people singing that song were illegal immigrants? You're trying to have two different conversations and are using that to try to catch my in something.

If I felt compelled to move to Mexico for a better life would I be greeted with open arms singing their national anthem in English?

You yourself tied the language they were speaking in as an argument about illegal immigration.

I doubt many Mexicans would get sand in their vag if you were singing their anthem in another language, especially when the tune is clearly apparent to them while you do it.
