I've got some progress on the gearing/driveshaft stuff I was looking into. The guy wants the output flange from the T-case to see how far the option door is...he wants to cv the front of the rear shaft with the slip. If we can do that we're good. The dana 60 that is already set up with the slide off discs will be fine, he said...and I'm going with 4:56 gearing.
Once that is done, reinstall and then tear out the reverse cut 44 up front and get it matched up, it won't be special a kit for that. I'll get new ball joints for the spindles, and go through all the bearings and hub stuff...replace anything that needs it and get all new seals for everything. I don't really like the lock outs that are on it now, so I'll see what yanks my crank for that. Install new axel joints too. After that is done, have them go through the T case and make sure all that is up to snuff and all resealed.

I still kinda wish I were looking more into getting a 60 for the front, but I can't really justify that. The 44 should do fine....but I would like to find a truss for it that doesn't suck.
The guy today paid a few compliments about what he saw.....that felt pretty good.
If you aren't off roading it, I think a 44 would be fine.
Yeah, I was fairly mean to a different truck 30 years ago...it had a 44 as well.
Brick shithouse is the theme though...I can still get a 60 before I take this one out for anything.

Most of the truss stuff I can find for 44's is for effing jeep coil set ups.
One outfit goes as far as making one, showing the pics....and then saying it's too time consuming, so we don't make this.
