I looked at a five gallon bucket of unprocessed brass and quickly left the room.
Trimmed and processed 100pcs 308

I keep plugging away prepping .223 brass. I've got about 3700 rounds polished, sized and de-primed. Of those, I've only trimmed about 700 cases. My Dillon super swager should arrive tomorrow so I'll start swaging soon. Man, this stuff takes some time. I've even got the Giraud trimmer which should make things easier/faster and it still takes some serious time. All the brass I've got is once-fired and about 3/4 of it is Lake City so I'm hoping the lack of swaging and minimal or no case trimming next time around will make it go faster.
I feel like once I've got the brass prepped and ready to load, it'll go pretty quickly with the Dillon 650. Time will tell, I guess. I'll probably do a bunch of pistol ammo first to get the hang of it since this is my first experience with reloading.
a dillion 1050 will solve your problem, along with their case trimmer. If you want to really get dirty, get a lee pro 1000 for decapping. I decap on the lee, then do a 3/4 resize on the dillon, then trim, then do a full length resize. Works like a champ...Sometimes you just gotta ask yourself how much your time is worth...
Sat back and guided a friend as he loaded 80rds of 9mm (took a while to get the lee adjustable charge bar dialed in) and a ladder of 18rds of 30-06 (weighing each charge because I don't have a powder dropper).
We're heading to the range tomorrow to blast some clays and test out his 30-06 loads.
My friend's pistol kept having FTEjects with his reloads, so we once again thought that the loads were too weak. But after having loaded 5.6gr of Accurate #5 behind 115gr Plated RN 9mm, I started questioning if it was his pistol. The max load for that powder is 5.9gr. Since we used a volumetric powder measure, I didn't want to go higher on the charge and thought we'd find a different powder for him.
Then he told me he was going to clean his pistol real quick and add some lube. Turns out his pistol was dirty and dry, he has never cleaned or LUBED his firearms because a friend told him not to. Well no wonder he was having malfunctions! [facepalm] After he lubed it, the pistol started shooting the reloads flawlessly!
In other news, I picked up a pile of pink 308 Win brass at the range while picking up my other brass. Headstamp was 61 over 92. At first I was excited that I got some nice 308 brass, but after doing some research, it appears to be copper washed steel cases from China. [facepalm]
Just a pic of the pink brass:

We had one go into the disposal.
I guess I'll re-tumble after sizing instead of washing them.
The Christmas LnL is finally set up to run 40S&W. There's stuff to learn the hard way getting it going with the powder through expander and the Po Man bullet feeder. It works like a champ. Next is to actually put powder in and adjust OAL. This has been FUN!
Tested my new .45acp loads! I had one FTFeed in my XDm. Very accurate in all our pistols that we tested with today. Now it's time to crank up the volume!
Im currently stairing at my 5 gal bucket of nicely sized and polished .223/5.56 brass that needs to be trimmed. Hahaha
I now have some VERY shiny brass, left the tumbler going for 9hrs (yea yea, I know, its not like the 24hrs some of you guys leave it going). Kind of makes me want to go tumble all of my other brass for that long [LOL]
Guess this means I have a bunch of brass to process tomorrow, so yay!
Trimmed, swagged, prepped, and re-tumbled some decapped and sized LC 5.56.
Loaded up some more .45ACP rounds. Working up a ladder.
Loaded up my first .223. 69 gr SMK over BL-C(2). Tomorrow I'll load up some 75 and 77. Still thinking about powder for those. Maybe I'll try some Varget. I need to get my behind down to pick up my 8208 XBR.
Loaded 10 450 Corvette with 320 grainers, 50 .414 Supermag with 265s, and 50 .300 BO 240 SMKs, all slated for the Chrono next week.
New to reloading. Setup the bench yesterday. Started processing brass today. Deprimed, clean primmer pockets and cleaned 1000-1500
Pieces of 223 brass today. Still waiting on my scale to come in. Looking forward to start the load process. What type of bullets are you guys using. Any recipes for SS109 bullets. I will be use h335 and Barger with CCI 400 primers.
Tumbled the brass from yesterday's range session.
loaded up 50 rounds of .308 training ammo.
Bought a bunch of powder and some boooolits.
Beat on a Dillon 1200 until it did what I wanted (for the most part).
Loaded my first 30 rounds. 10 each for test loads. .40 S&W 155gr JHP with 5.5, 5.6 and 5.7 grains of Titegroup.
Hoping to get a new head set up for 9mm tomorrow to load up a 3-step ladder for 9mm load testing.
Planning on a few hours at the range on Tuesday if work doesn't interfere.
Woo, hoo!
The real fun is the first time you shoot your reloads and they all go bang, the pistol cycles, and you still have all your fingers. :D

I'm thinking of wearing a motorcycle helmet and a flak jacket! Somebody will have pictures, I'm sure.
Honestly, everything checks out great. I measured each round for OAL and visually confirmed the powder in each case before setting a bullet in place. Pretty exciting, actually, when a plan comes together.
Discovered this evening that I think I should have ordered another die for my powder checker for the 9mm head. Kinda defeats the purpose of having multiple heads for multiple calibers if you gotta change out a die.
Painted the floor OD Green! I'll post pics once it dries
Finally joined a range and went shooting. Ran about 40 rounds of Winchester white box through a previously-unfired 9mm gun (XDM 5.25) and then started trying out my reloads.
Short story is that I did 30 rounds of 124gr round nose and 30 rounds of 115gr bullets changing powder load by 0.1gr every 10 rounds. In both cases, I really found no difference in accuracy so I'll probably stick with the lightest loads that cycle the gun properly.
I started at the lowest powder suggested in the reloading data. Is there any reason I shouldn't experiment with even lighter loads? I'm just putting holes in paper, after all. My theory is that the lighter load will give less recoil and will allow me to get back on target quicker/easier.
i loaded up 200 rounds of the 124gr bullets when I returned home from the range last night. I felt like I was moving at a snail's pace and it still only took me 22 minutes on the Dillon 650. This included the time needed to clear an upside-down primer jam and the time needed to refill the primer feeder (already had a tube of primers loaded up--just pulled the cotter pin).
I feel like a little kid with all this stuff. I need to get my chores done today (playing lawyer) so I have time to get to the range again this afternoon.
I normally stay below most min starting points but it depends on your powder and gun. I don't know anything about the XDM, my Glock compact and full size can handle lighter loads then a sub compact (stock guns) due to the recoil spring on the subs. I don't modify my guns as far as springs and whatnot so I only compare stock. I have ran thousands of rounds of 9mm with 115 and 124 grain plated bullets using 3.5gr of titegroup powder. I use 3.8-4.2 for 40 s&w and 10mm, and 3.8-4.5gr for 45. I haven't used any other powder in years but I am working on some loads in Alliant promo, still working on how light I can go. Don't go so low you end up with squibs though! Unless your shooting a competition where you need to make a power factor or just like shooting hot loads might as well save the powder and load light.
I do have some 10mm loads I shot in my Glock 20 that make my hand hurt, every once in a while they are fun but not often.
Disclaimer: I DO NOT reccomend straying from published known load data.
I sat in my cave still trying to decide what press to get, high mount or low, blah blah.
I also wish southern bell hadn't screwed up and forgot to ship my 45 gap brass so I would have something to do today.
Ran my first 100 rounds of 40SW through the new Lock n Load. This sure beats loading pistol on a Rock Chucker. The Poor Man's bullet feeder works like a champ.
It works very well. I went with the hornady bullet feeder die fed by plastic tubes from Linens and Things. Here's a link to the bullet feeder idea I swiped. I cut the tubes in half so each one holds 25 bullets:

Set up my new 1050 and ran 1k rounds of .308 brass for prep.
Have not used my RCBS AmmoMaster press in quite a while so just cleaned and lubed the ram and dies so they're ready for some action. Now my reloading is limited just to .50BMG since equipment/components for all other calibers has been sold/traded off. I sometimes think that I'd actually rather reload than shoot the reloads. I do know that ANY pieces of equipment or components for the .50BMG reloading are damn expensive. If anyone is anticipated reloading for this caliber in the near future, start buying the components now before some CO Congress critter thinks that this caliber is just way too dangerous for their common subjects to own. This is NOT, by any means, meant to be a political rant of any type, just a "heads up" about .50BMG reloading stuff.
Pulled the tape off the floor and marveled at how amazing a OD Green floor is
then I loaded 1k 9mm and 400 45acp, cleaned the 550 and 1050. Man the presses where dirty as he'll.
IMO, unless you have a super fast powder, or if you have a powder like H110 where min and max are 1 grain apart, just start in the middle of the data and work up. If you want a softer recoiling load, get a heavier bullet and use a faster powder. Going lighter than start loads can cause problems. It will be dirty, for one, and as mentioned, the potential for a squib goes up.
Reloading bench make over home edition. I am gonna strip the old laminate/Formica what ever it is and sand it down. Paint the cabinets and either paint the top or relaminate it? How hard is that stuff to cut? Anyideas on cool paint/color? While I was researching presses I seen so many cool benches that i realized I was really lacking.
Maybe paint it a nice red with a big Lee logo just for kazoo? Bronco colors, with a big bronco decal in the center would be cool? Black with a big Glock logo would be awesome! This was my first reloading bench, still has the holes from mounting the original Lee and RCBS presses to it.
I did load 250 RDS of 45.

I took down one of the 650's, "supposedly" i had a buyer for it ;) Even put it in the 650 box, instructions and all the misc items it came with.
Is that top solid wood? If not, I would consider a piece of plywood. Laminate needs to be cut and trimmed with standard woodworking tools. That means routing the edge.
Sent from a device smart enough to send a man to the moon if the battery could last the trip.
Its 2" particle and a 5/8" sheet of plywood. Its a big heavy massive beast I almost threw out when I moved due to the weight. I think I am going to pull the plywood and put another sheet of MDF or what ever it is and paint it. I don't have a router and I don't think I could do it good.
Seriously what do you guys do all day in your reloading rooms besides surf the web?
I went to my daughters school and had lunch with her today then went to the post office. My new Lee 1000 (setup for 45 acp) and my 45 bullets came in today. I went home and spent 20 minutes setting it up, maybe 30 with running some cases through it and checking powder etc. I had the powder disk in wrong so that took a couple minutes to figure out why I had no powder. All the dies came pre setup and I only had to adjust the seating die slightly. It came with the roller handle but I don't really care for it. I loaded up the last 28 230gr bullets I had then 100 200gr. I probably spent an hour and a half setting up, figuring out how it works, changing the chain on the powder measure to a spring, running several case to test priming and powder drop. The powder measure is dead nuts every time with promo powder. I should have done this years ago! $150 with dies. Reading the reviews and now having one apparently they fixed the problems the old ones have.
I waited on the case feed collator to see how the case feeder worked, I will be ordering it shortly!
I forgot to order the small primer kit for 45 gap so I will have to prime on the SS till I get one.
