I just ordered a Gamo Magnum in .22.
They have some cooler models but I figure that's gonna work just fine for these little piss bastards. Regular pump BB/pellet gun was basically useless.

I also saw the local Raccoon slinking down into the gutter drain tonight...when your trash cans get eaten up and have to pick up garbage from their efforts, ya get a little tired of it.
Some weekend night recon might be in order...mission: Fuck you Raccoon.
ReconAcoon.
lol.
DeconAcoon?
Advertising mastery available here, just ask me.
Ha ha ha.
Hey man.

Eh fech…. I have a bunch of shit work to do tomorrow. You know, manual labor for somebody else.
Phone call question: Hey, how's your gardening skills?
Answer: Um, what are you talking about?
Pause: I need you to pick some weeds for me.
Answer: Okay...……..Dad.
Dysfunctional, yes...mother fucker.
Edited becuase folks don't like truth sometimes.
Goodnight and happy Saturday to ya all.

OBC: There was Denver Poker Tour and another back in the day that I used to participate in, but it's been a long time. I've found that I have to be in the mood to do okay in a poker tourney. If I'm not, then I only do average, which means losing half way.
So, I am trying to do a dye job on my Kendo Bogu (armor) which is about 20 years old. Bought the dye from Walmart for $2 on Clearance section, and so far it is working out great. It is not as easy as I thought.
Now the Bad news...... I tried it on before doing the dye job, and the Medium armor (bogu) doesn't fit me anymore. :(

G'morning folks
Morning
35-50 mph winds all day yesterday, this morning dead calm. Like CO weather, only less traffic and people.
Couple of the bald guys from Bowers went to the Burris Regional match today. Ditching work even to go play.
Everyone at Bowers is bald
Yep. But not all of them went
Maybe next year I'll do it.
Im looking forward to video to see how it goes.
In the interim I've registered for the inaugural Big Ben Tactical match. Two of the stages are up close which I've never done before so it should be fun to try something new.
I dont even have opportunity to try a practice run before the match... learning curve here I come!
GilpinGuy, how's your aquaponics set up doing?
Irving! You shoot Uspsa...
I have shot uspsa, but I wouldn't look to me for any advice. You looking to get involved?
The Big Ben is going to be a hybrid of that flavor & prs-ish.
Pretty sure the three rules are, be safe, be safe & shoot the brown paper, yes?
Oversimplifying of course, but that is the gist, no?
That sounds super fun. Is that what you meant when you said you hadn't shot up close before?
Maybe glance at the rules, because I don't know, but often pistol targets need to be engaged at least twice. So see if your favorite range will let you do double and triple taps.
There is of course much more to competition shooting than being able to pull the trigger fast. In fact I'd say that's one of the last skills you should work on, BUT I've seen many people with admirable marksmanship skills being intimidated about going fast just because they've never actually tried it before.
O...k...
Well I didn't know about much when I showed up for Hoser's or the PRS match & I did fine. I'm just nervous because it's new & there will be super talented people there.
Best part about that is that there will be super talented people there to watch & learn from.
Also, no matter who you are, you get to a big match and see the speeds that veteran competitors are running at and it's overwhelming. People tend to focus on how fast someone else just went, and focus on that speed, to their detriment. You're going to feel slow, and that's perfectly okay. For a first match you should really be focusing on safety and fundamentals. I think with you coming into this later in life, and not being full of testosterone puts you at an advantage and makes you a good learner.
Last thing. If you're getting all zeros, or A/B zone shots, then pick up your pace until you aren't. That will let you know when you're at the edge of your current ability, and in the doorway to your next level of skill.
Yeah, you're going to be pretty excited, and with the way you like to soak up info, you're going to be a little over stimulated. Lol
I always know the rules. I'm not so concerned about my trigger control as Im going to be an uber dork in slow motion. I think Ill hit my targets, its just how long it'll take me. Im willing to bet I time out on the two close stages.
You're going to feel like molasses, but you won't even come close to timing out. Unless that's in the rules, that's not even possible. Just set realistic expectations. If you think you'll suck, that's fine, just go in there and suck like a boss!
Or maybe... it'll be like the first time I shot trap. That was wholly new & I did fine.
Oh... & I'll really need to mind my holdover @ 35, I'm sighted for 200.
Pretty much this. In fact, you already have accomplished the two requirements of starting a sport, not being a pussy and actually showing up, and knowing how to learn. Those are the two body hold ups for most people and you don't have that issue. Do forget anything else I said cause you'll be just fine.
