This morning is the annual viewing of "The Sandlot".
What a weekend. My kid was a passenger in a car wreck a few night ago. Friends newer mustang totaled, but all kids and other driver ok. 287 and 52 strikes again, CDOT this one is on you. That intersection always leads to accidents, and everyone I speak to avoids it. Of course other driver did not have a licence. This is the 5th incident with illegals in 5 years for me and my friends, fukin build a wall already.
Got to give it to new cars, the front was smashed solid and the cabin was intact, side air bag deployed and only a scratch on my kid, but not even a real bruise anywhere on the arm. Driver of the car my kid was in got a few arm scratches, the other passenger was scratch free.
Glad everyone is OK.
Why so many wrecks there? I see there was a fatality June 26 when a street sweeper ran a red light.
I thought they were giving free licenses and a right to vote to all illegals in CO?
Fuck ya, build that damn wall. Fix the asylum program and hang every douche that exploits children not their own to get here. I don't care if we need to put our own troops at the US and Mexico's southern borders.
287 and 52 is basically two freeways with an intersection. They pull the cute stunt of limiting speed to 55 so you can have a cross turn lane. Add to that the fact that 52 always gets priority and people speed like a mother through 52 while on 287 so they don't have to wait. (52 has 5-10 cars waiting at most and the light turns green for them, 287 has a 1/4 mile backup and only gets retimed when people complain.) Add to that all the effing appartments added constantly to Longmont and you end up with humongous volume of cars.
CDOT needs to extend the turn lanes on 287 by 300% and make the turns on green arrow only, with a proper time for N/S traffic to pass through.
Rant mode off.
When I was doing field service, I used to run the whole corridor from Parker to Cheyenne and spent a lot of time up and down the area west of I-25 Denver to Loveland, but it's been forever since I've run up there, and never during rush hour.
Sounds more like an overpass is now needed.
Overpass would make a lot of sense there.
Mrs bo was sorting cast iron cookware to go in the new travel trailer for the season and putting together a set for one of the minion families.
Didn't realize her collection was so extensive until she had it laid out.
She added another half dozen pieces after I took the pic.https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...e2deb094c4.jpg
Damn
Did you guys see the photos of the hail storm they had in Mexico yesterday?
No
Yeah, was pretty crazy. On the upside, if they have good drainage, it will really clean the streets when it melts.
Now yes.

Oh good, I have a hard time posting things while mobile.
4 squirrels were in the tree yesterday & today. Couple more on the perimeter... perhaps it's a squirrel invasion.
I've watched videos, but I think I'd like someone to walk me through how to efficiently field dress small game.
I think it'd be a useful skill to have practiced if anyone is willing to tutor.
Won?t have to field dress them if you just fling them off your property.

Maybe I'll build some form of air cannon & pie the little dudes over my least favorite neighbor's property.
I once heard rumor that could also be an excellent deterrent for illegal immigration but that seems a tad excessive & I digress...
Yup. Knew someone would make a joke out of my request.
Sorry. Wasn?t making light of your request but I haven?t dressed a squirrel in probably twenty years or more. I don?t remember them being much different than a rabbit so just use whatever technique you prefer for rabbits.
Also, stick your request in the general section or maybe the hunting area if you?re really serious.
I wouldn't know any technique, hence the inquiry. Thought I'd ask more familiar folk who know me & my reasons first.
I dont find the idea of mutilating animals from trial & error appealing. However, I do see benefit in skilled preparation in order to keep the meat. Turns out there is a person who would like to have the squirrels & I'd genuinely prefer they not go to waste.
Small game is slightly different than birds or big game. Same goal of removal of organs and skin (optional on birds), but the size makes things a lot easier.
I've only seen fleas on the squirrels from my other property, never seen them on the ones @ my residence. Seems odd but I'm not complaining.
If it makes you feel any better.
1) The squirrels are already dead and throwing them in the trash is no better/worse/different than "mutilating" them when it comes to the utilization of the meat.
2) Even with expert direction, you'll still feel like there is plenty of improvement to be made the first few times you field dress an animal.
3) You can do it!!!!
Every year when hunting season gets close, I spend a lot of time watching field dressing videos. Then hunting season comes and I don't have a video in the woods. That you can do it on your kitchen counter with a video right in front of you is a tremendous advantage. I've field dressed a coyote, on my own, well enough that I got a good looking full mount of out of her when I was done. If I remember correctly, I also used a pocket knife. That was after only field dressing a deer and maybe two-three elk and this was a completely different animal. Soooooooo
You can do it!!!
Go to Meateater.com and see if they have videos up for small game. I know they have decent tutorials in their small game hunting guide and cook books, which you're welcome to borrow if you like.
I don't really feel like this counts as a tornado, but it was cool and lasted for several minutes. There were actually two (well more like four, but only one larger). The owners of the property were very concerned about me standing on the roof while these were going by and the farmer (who was on top of his combine at the time) said if it got close enough, it'd be strong enough to pull him out and toss him to the ground.

I don't count these as tornadoes, merely dust devils. I feel like I've seen plenty in baseball diamonds.
