People are stupid and inept, and they could care less about changing that. That's the part that really drives me nuts.
Ah. Gotcha.
wednesday, yea . 1 axle done. 2 hand guns to road rest for neighbors, places to go, people to see.
I'm Late, I'm Late. For a very Important Date.
Peanut butter and jelly snack time...

In other news, Irving, after you comment the other night about a SUP, I did some thinking today (which is unusual for a Wednesday, but I'm at home not at work so its probably okay for me to think a bit more than usual).
A kayak would be a lot of sitting, which isn't good for me (if I do sit, it has to be perfect posture, blah blah blah). Also, kayaks are rather heavy, weighing in at 45-60 lbs or more. After doing some research, iSUPs (inflatables) are quite light at only 20-30 lbs which would be a lot more manageable for me. Not only that, SUPs are basically core strength workouts on steroids. The best types of workouts I can do are those that work my core (and walking, cause motion is lotion). So I've switched over to researching iSUPs now, and am highly considering one of those instead of a kayak. Thanks for the tip!
Someone told me the same. Craigslist got much better than FB. At least I have a total block feature on facebook marketplace. After they ghost me for 1/2 days, I just block them now.
lol. this got me thinking that I need another way to weedout some CL trolls/ghoster/spammer.
I am going to write an automated generic message of what normal seller would write. I will just push reply, and send in few seconds. When they reply, I know they are real buyer. Good way to weed out spammers. :D
Cool. I'd just say to try one out to make sure it works for you before you get too excited. I only know a little, but here it is. Wider is more stable. My friend has had two, and she prefers the thicker one better as it seems like more buoyancy/carrying capacity. My niece and nephew are small enough that they ride along (or the dog or something).
Yea, I wish I could but I haven't seen any paddle board shops near me (for renting) and don't know anyone that has one. It might be possible to ask people that live at the lake if anyone has one I could borrow to try out.
From what I've seen, 32-34" wide is best for beginners and that I should get one that is 6" thick (the 4" thick inflatables are not rigid enough and bend when you stand on them). There are some that even have D-rings meant for a 4-pt kayak seat which would most likely be the most uncomfortable "kayaking" experience ever lol.
Apparently Costco sells a pretty good beginner one for very cheap (currently on sale for $299; Body Glove), but I don't want to rush into the decision, and from what I've read, they've sold that one for years and it goes on sale several times per year. Plus, if I bought it now, I'd be eager to get out there and probably re-herniate... so that'd be bad.
I feel like all it takes is walking up to a person with a paddle board and saying, "Cool paddle board, I've been looking into one" and they offer to let you ride it.
You know, you'd think that. But, our lake has 5 beaches, and 22-mi of shoreline, which has houses on almost all of it (so lots of waterfront homes). In the nearly 5-yrs we've lived here, the countless hours I've spent at the beach, I've only see 1 paddleboarder. And they were on the opposite side of the lake near another beach. So unless they all go out at sunrise or sunset, my chances of catching a paddleboarder getting ready on the beach, is pretty slim.
Haha. Might be different with people who live on the water as well.
Yea, I'm sure they see tons of paddleboarders out their back windows. We're 2 rows of houses over from the waterfront. There is a HUGE Facebook group for the lake, where everyone is extremely active (unfortunately). I might be able to track someone down that way before I buy just to see if southern hospitality actually exists like I'm told it does.
I just meant that people who live there might have a different attitude since they'll see it as "their" beach and not be as welcome to strangers. As opposed to some other place where everyone who is there is visiting, so there isn't an Us vs Them attitude. Who knows. I'm just bullshitting. Hope you can check one out regardless.
Got all my measurements to the shock guy for an estimate.
Got the right side of the rear diff put together, parts store wont have the other studs until tomorrow afternoon...fvckers.
Sorry, I know the details of the lake and neglected that [facepalm]. It's a private gated community and I live inside the gates of the lake, just can't afford the houses on the water (they're 4-6 times more expensive than my house). I have full access to the 5 beaches scattered around the lake; the two closest are <3/4-mi and ~1-mi away.
I grilled some peaches tonight, to go along with our burgers for dessert. Cause apparently, grilled peaches are the in-thing right now.
Those were the most disgusting things I've ever tried. The rum caramel sauce was pretty good, except for the fact that once it hit the ice cream, it turned rock hard; almost as if it was shards of glass.
Needless to say, that dessert did not go over well with the family...
What do you think?
Slightly smaller?
Being a car guy, I'm not going to knock a vehicle that I don't like. I know that the person driving it either payed for, or did the work themselves and are probably pretty proud of it. That's a nice little half ton short bed in my opinion. I don't like low riders, but I can respect the time and effort that those enthusiasts put into their projects the same as mine.
Sometimes it doesn't work, BC. I'm not much of a dessert guy or pastry consumer....I had my donut for this year about a week ago.
That's awesome and good for him. It's clear much time was spent on that pick up.
You're pretty good at posting pics...... and stuff from your dash cam, that's cool you can do that.
But OBC, both of my kids turned it down! It had ICE CREAM and they refused to eat it!
My oldest said: "Papa, next time, just leave the peaches and the glass out and it'll be excellent"
She wants just plain ol' vanilla ice cream. Can't blame her, that's my favorite too!
lol, BC.
Though....I've never seen or heard of kids turning down ice cream until just now.
THAT'S EXACTLY MY POINT!!!
I screwed it up SOOOO badly that 2 kids wouldn't even touch the ice cream it was sitting on!
I never would have made it as a Royal Chef... [guillotine]
And on that note, time to go do some PT and head to bed.
Enjoy the rest of your night, Ho's!
I just grill the peaches....wife adds ice cream when they hit the bowl
They did make some half ton short beds with big blocks in 'em I think. I might be wrong about that.
Little truck, 460?....fun.
