Souping up daily drivers to go fast in a straight line doesn't really interest me. Maybe that's why I didn't like the Fast and Furious series. Or maybe it was because they were stupid. It's tough to tell. [Coffee]

The Dr. recommended knee brace came in from Amazon yesterday afternoon. https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07SPZMJYW?th=1
It really seems to be helping.
After knee manipulation under anesthesia (mua), orthopedic wanted me to get a knee braces.
I asked them how much.
They said it is free out of pocket , but they will charge 900 to an insurance company.
After hearing that, I went to ebay and bought a new braces for $45ish.
900 is beyond moral hazard.
We've bought a bunch of medical stuff from Amazon. It's a great resource where you're not fully dependent on some provider.
Been telling the spouse, for months. That outside thermometer is broke. No it's not, she insist. Well yesterday was in the 70's. So i ask, still think the thermometer works? Yes why? Well according to that, it's 110. Hmm it must be broken [facepalm]
So I'm cleaning out another grandparent's house, and now I have ten Plano fishing tackle boxes. Here is a picture of the ones that have stuff in them. I'm overwhelmed and don't even know what to do with this stuff.

I also have this to deal with. Not sure if I should keep it (I have zero room) or sell it or what. Ideally I'll get it running, then sell, but have no idea for how much.

Donate the tackle boxes to CDoW....they can put them to use for kiddo fishing programs
Ohhh, good idea, thanks. At the very least, I shouldn't ever have to buy any type of spoon again.
I know, but I feel like people were steering him away from a mower. Plus this is a newer one than the tank I sold to DFBrews.
I'm in a wise ass mood tonight for some reason. Probably cause I should have been elbows deep in elk guts today but f*cked that up.
Need to locate the wheel weights & chains for the plow setup. The weights are a black plastic filled with concrete looking things, that get bolted to the inside of the real wheels. Buy or recover that seat you might get $5-600, depending on overall mechanical condition. It would make a nice snow removal unit for your place.
Perfect
Roll him for his change.

OBC, have you moved yet?
Had the follow-up appointment RE: my knee with the integral bloody waterbed. Nothing major damaged that would require surgery. It's a large hematoma about 22cm long and 16.5cm wide. Doc continued to say that's the biggest swollen up knee he's ever seen. I get to wear a compression sleeve/brace and hopefully the swelling will go down in about 3 months. No more opportunities to possibly infect the knee (i.e. draining) are warranted. It's an inconvenience and that's about it. They also offered some good advice to not kneel on that knee. Gee doc, I never thought of that. [facepalm]
All in all, good news.
I do find it amusing as the puppy seems to jump on that knee like there's a target on it.
Did they take photos? That's a good indicator that it is really big. Hope it recovers well for you.
This is what I ended up doing today. Need to go back and finish tomorrow (and clean the gutters).

Surprisingly, hanging Christmas lights isn't as fun as it sounds. Individually screwing in each bulb, the individually installing each clip, then custom making each strand with custom fitted ends. All while hanging on for dear life because the roof is a 10/12 pitch and made of plastic, so your specially grippy roof shoes do absolutely dick to help you stay alive. Just not as fun as it sounds.
They are LEDs, but when you buy a 1,000ft roll of wire with sockets, the bulbs come individually. "Bulbs" look like crystal, but are heavy plastic. Everything is surprisingly durable.
Could be worse...if you were married to it, that would be an annual unpaid affair until life insurance was inevitably collected by your spouse.
My daughter was so mad when she found out I was putting up lights for some other house and not ours.
We've done that one Christmas Eve in a limo.
The Parade of Lights at the Botanical Gardens is impressive. It's a walking tour, worth doing if you've never seen it.
With the reprieve from the cold and snow I hung new gutters over the north and south sides of the cabin. What was left of he old gutters came down when I rebuilt the roof with polyiso foam panels last year. The entries are below the drip edges so ice build up was a problem. I'm sure glad I invested in roll around scaffolding many years ago. I've used it a lot over 25 years. Much better and safer than ladders for many jobs.
I descended into the crawl space where I've cellared a few hundred bottles of wine that I've made over the years. I pulled a 2015 Cabernet Franc and we opened it last night. Stored in the dark at steady cool temps, it's improved nicely. The tartrate fallout is impressive with this rich, fruit forward wine. Just the right amount of oak. Not my best but very drinkable. I look forward to making wine again when we move back to Palisade.
Sounds great!
I hope CN is doing OK. Haven't seen her posting for a while.
