Yes, while the lawyers make the money, it's the county employees and taxpayers who lose. Taxpayers will end up paying attorney fees for both plaintiff and defendant, now close to a $million, all to keep the county commission from being labeled a serial age discriminator. But the evidence is overwhelming against them and most everyone who's ever worked for the county knows some history of it. The commissioners posture to party insiders that they save money by not spending it but conservatism demands efficient government, not dysfunction and chaos. Ignorance, incompetence and corruption is their administrative hallmark now. The public will never fully know how much they're doling out to their buddy lawyers to hide from their legal and ethical responsibilities.
