See. I like you too.
It was almost Santiago's Saturday....wife said the line was around the restaurant and into the street..so she went to Burger King instead. I would have back tracked to the bbq place for their burritos...but I got free breakfast so I ain't complaining
We always go by 0700 to avoid just that.
As wyo said, there are so many occurrence that I gave up on restaurant pickup order and went to fastfood.
There are mom/pop restaurant who nickel&dime you with smaller portion than pre-covid19 takeout. That is just worse than price gouging hand sanitize or toilet paper. at least I know I get gouged on those items. Those restaurant gougers try to sneak in 50cents to dollar more AND give less portion without noticing it later.
Those restaurants will be my avoid list.
SMH. Some folks are trying hard to survive and you bitch about a small price increase or smaller portion? FFS.
Despite a significant drop in business, Tailgate Tavern gave free gas to healthcare workers this morning. I think they did it last week too. How's that for gouging people?
We have kept up our weekly take out nite two local eateries. Instead of two trips per week to town I order and pick up both same trip and one becomes left overs for next day.
Maybe they have to do smaller portions to fit in the takeout boxes?
And if fifty cents to a dollar for a meal is price gouging then maybe you need to re-evaluate your personal financial situation.
oh okay. I guess it is okay to charge 50 cent + than what menu said during these days. I got it...........
Correct.
I've pretty much lived on carry out since this thing started (being in a hotel), and my waist line will prove it. Every place I've ordered from has been beyond grateful, and most have completely restructured their business model, yet still provided good service and food. I cannot complain about portions, and I've tipped very well despite not being "served". I'm very grateful for what the restaurant business has done during this time.

Some of these places don't have a choice, either they charge a measly 50 cents extra, or they sink, period. Many of these places aren't even able to pay rent, if you are bitching over 50 cents, then nothing I say is likely to persuade you, but these business didn't ask to basically be shut down, that 50 cents extra is likely covering all the extra clam shells or whatever they are putting your food in.

You didn't say that. You said "Those restaurant gougers try to sneak in 50cents to dollar more AND give less portion without noticing it later."
You're not getting ripped off. They're providing a service under extra ordinary circumstances and you think they're taking advantage of you. In a free market society, of which you often profess to be in favor of, there's no such thing as price gouging. It's what the market will bear.
Maybe they changed their pricing and you're looking at an old menu? Maybe there's a different cook that portions differently. Maybe there was a misunderstanding or a language barrier? Lot of what-if's there. For you to make an assumption they're gouging you is petty.
I didn't do any name calling in my first post. Now I will. Your attitude and what you're saying is a total dick move. There. Now go tattle to a mod.
IBTL......... [Pop]
Easy fam.
I just wanted Santiago's burritos....wtf ppl
All the little things are cumulative.
I know I've had a rough couple weeks myself.
Going to the range now.
Ta!

Grocery run, decontamination, yard work then range.
I don't have my day all planned out yet.
Too wet for yard work right now.
Should probably work on cleaning the garage but that will likely involve renting a dumpster so think I'll hold off.
There possibly could be a range session in store for me today.
Think I'll scoop poop in the yard, and clean my AR9... and TV, lots of tv
You kidding me?
I'd hang out with the un-cool kids nine out of ten times.
Do like getting the reruns of 30 year old Nascar races.
Thank you Mystic Mountain Distillery for making Outlaw Whiskey!

All of them, or one specifically?
All of them but a few are more memorable.
Anything from N Wilkesboro, Rockingham or Darlington are bonus.
Amazon has first run should be in theatre movies for $20. This is actually cheaper for me and my family then going to the movies.
Put a brisket on the smoker this morning. 10 hours or so. Couple hours to rest and... damnhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9a757eeae4.jpg

We ate a brisket as well, and the brisket above looks delicious! :D
Yes it does.
I always remove the point from the flat and stack them prior to smoking. I have a smallish electric smoker. Did an hour of Mesquite before switching to hickory.
5 ish hours of smoke then foil wrapped until it reached 200 degrees. Rest for two hours before serving... it'll do!

Since it is that time of year now, if you're in the market for getting a new string trimmer for your property...I'd recommend getting an Echo brand.
I got my first one about 10 yrs. ago and beat it up on an acre property in Buie, then four more years at my last home in Denver. The thing has been in storage for at least two years and I got it going again on Saturday. Yeah it was pissed off at first, but that thing ran....and I was impressed. (SRM-210) dual feed, two stroke.
Of course I only made the ceremonious first 30 ft, and had to re-spool the string....gah!
Happy canibus day!
Oh, yeah. Weren?t the taxes from that going to make such a positive difference for the state? What happened to that promise?
(Sarcasm alert)
