Flagged down a guy on a motorcycle today to tell him that I could see the belts on his rear tire. He already knew about it but thanked me anyway. Pretty scary sight.
One of the field supervisors showed up out here to take a few shifts.

I have Bike ADD. I literally JUST bought a BMW for the wife, and it turns out she doesn't want it. I love riding it, but it just lacks the brutality of the Buell.
and AFAIK the XB series is pretty reliable, and simple to work on.

It's sporty, it's utilitarian, it's got handling, power, ground clearance, comfort, luggage, upright riding position. Closest thing I can imagine is the 1200GS, or maybe Triumph Tiger, but vs the buell's 400# weight and 55mpg and no super labor intensive regular maintenance...I don't know what would even come close within the price range.

Who had the BMW? I always wanted to build a cafe racer around an old Beemer.
I just got a 2013 BMW F700GS factory Low for my wife. It's their 796cc parallel twin motor by rotax I believe. The bike is very comfortable and confidence inspiring. It's just down on HP by about 40 vs the Buell.

The shitter ain't the best. Kinda like prison only it has a wooden seat. Watch out for splinters!
I've got 2 chairs, a rack system with 2 computers, UPS, printer, switch, firewall, hardware controllers. Another comp on the desk, a sink and 2 chairs. It's a little cramped and noisy with the generators right outside.

First night of a 5 night work shift. I had to work one extra night because too many people requested time off for Memorial Day and the supervisor gave those people their request and punished me. :(

Besides, I bet its really about a swarm of trouts that only eat bums. They wait for them to wade into the calming waters and then BAM, bite their ankles off until they collapse into the water and then eat them like a bunch of bored piranhas.
