Got some potentially really good news today, however, I'm hesitant to celebrate about anything until it actually happens.
Potentially stormy shit on another front as well, and looks like it's going to litigation. Never fun dippin your toes in that cesspool.

Trying to get some flatwork done and it was supposed to be hot dry and sunny for a few days.
Tornado in HR and more rain and hail here in Parker. They tore out the old slab this morning and now I have a mud pool.
I feel your pain. I?m supposed to be pouring some concrete on Monday. Luckily for me I haven?t torn the old stuff out yet.

This is a 16x32 driveway. And the soil is mostly clay so not draining well. They're going to have to let it dry and it will still need some road base (that's costing me extra).

I'd like to get a "french drain" cut into my retarded driveway right in front of the OH garage door, and it would be nice to to put some large pads in a few places on the property. Driveway rocks are cool to a point, but concrete is the master. Nice to see you two homos responding......good deal.

We taught another carbine beginners / fundamentals class yesterday. Lady just shy of 70, used her 1943 Inland M-1 carbine for the class. She hung till the 100 deg temps slowed her down, maybe 30 min before the end of the 3 hr live fire portion. One more senior some predator might mistake for an easy target, one day.Quote:

Went with a friend Saturday to do some last minute scouting for his upcoming black powder Moose hunt starting Sep 9.
Hiked in and saw tons of sign all around his chosen area. Superhighway game trails. Moose, Elk, Deer, (and bear) scat and fresh track for both Moose and Elk. He's taken Elk in there before and knows the area pretty well.

Not this one. It's a bone stock Inland, from the worn finish, matching #'s etc. The way she was shooting, w rds would just add unnecessary weight, plus as the eyes get older more of a hindrance, than help. Interesting idea, however, for someone wanting a different defensive carbine.Quote:

The granny types out here are running Staccato's, STI's , full size 1911's VP9's. Carbines run from a PSA, to LWRC's and DD's. Last of my clients i saw over at tombstone was going to lunch to see if she could make up her mind between the POF, or DD carbine. Her sidearm's are the kimber Ultra Carry II or CZ PO-1. These ladies don't fool around, especially the AWA one's. They're more geared up than most " tier 1" wannabe's . Been having a rough Aug/Sept.
ER three Xs in four weeks in Aug. BP 54 over 52, O2 77%...they sent the wife out of the room just in case. Four broken metatarsals L foot, among other things. Repaired three vehicles engine wiring from rats eating them...and installing strobe/sound emitters and spraying spearmint spray on all the wiring. I've trapped at least six of those little fuckers since then and two skunks, all of which got "repurposed" in the arroyo :).
Kid is coming down for his annual visit next week, it'll be good to spend some time with him for a bit.
