The Bonus Army was evicted from Washington D.C in 1935. The Bonus Army was comprised of veterans seeking money. The US Army used tanks and troops against these veterans. Same place, different group of people.

Well in 1968, there were 14,000 armed soldiers and machine guns mounted on the Capitol steps. But they only had hours to deploy, not a week to prepare. It sure was a disaster area.

My big sister was enrolled at GW then, I remember going to visit with my folks and how the impact of seeing the troops impacted my WWII vet father. He was very saddened by what he saw.

Thanks. I knew about the riots but didn't know the military response was that big then.

Soooo they bring in troops from all over the state and now from other states and pack them close together in the buildings they were worried about when it came to COVID exposure?

Yet the social media participation of young people make it possible to do a decade-long background check on our very thoughts...

Prior generations of governments would've creamed themselves to have such abilities, especially in dark corners of the world.

(TLDR: The NG has been hand-filtered to avoid any "sympathizers" as they call them)
