Sometimes priorities change. My advice is avoid selling. My mountaineering gear sat almost untouched for three or four years. Then suddenly I wanted to climb again. Set your gear in a corner of the basement and get into something new. There's most likely going to be a time when you're going to want to get back into it. You don't want to have to start over from scratch.
