Actually, I was making that point. Crime happens everywhere. I threw in the part about Millburn being nice because I wasn't certain that anyone on the board would actually believe there are nice parts of Jersey [Coffee]
Wow. That was awful.
I may be thinking sideways, here- but I'm thinking that a firearm would only be one level of security for their home. Thank god they had a nanny-cam, and thank god their 3 year old and 1.5 year old weren't hurt. The fact that he kicked his way into the home, and the fact that he was alone makes me wonder. Did he know she was home alone (or home with children)? Clearly, the NJ gun laws make things easy for the criminal element, but there was nothing that I could really see that she could have used as a weapon to defend herself. I look at my living room, and if a home invader managed to get through our safety door, I see a LOT of things that would incapacitate a criminal. She didn't try to fight back.
I understand why she made the conscious decision to simply take the beating, and I hope that justice will find that thug.
He'd better hope that the police find him first.
Showed this to the wife, who wasn't surprised. She's big on the gun/self defense thing. She doesn't carry at home, but we have one in almost every room of the house (literally), she said "they better hope I'm not in the kitchen if that ever happened." I was wondering where my Benelli went...... All joking aside though, I've come home hours early from work (while working nights in HVAC), and I didn't have my keys on me, she was still up, and what I heard before she asked who it was, was the slide of my USP racking. I'll never forget how proud I was of her. lol
If the cops were to get to him first he would have a long probation period to show how "sorry" he was and then be rehabilitated back into society. So for the sake of wasted tax dollars I hope the cops don't pick him up first.
They CAUGHT the bastard.
I do believe he's seen his last bit if freedom....

He truly deserves a public hanging.
