You don't want them caked with mud. But it shouldn't make a difference if the bullets are tarnished. The cases on the other hand could jam in the chamber. But its a remote chance.

Pardon my ignorance, but I thought that it was bad juju to put full/primered round in a tumbler.
Wondered that myself, after searching around seems some people think it is not a good idea and others say they do it. Couldn't find anything about someone actually having a problem. Anyway have some DAG 7.62 and about 30% of it seems to have some green spots on the shoulder of the round. Some wipes off with a cloth (shirt), and some seems to be worse. None seems to have actually eaten through the case (is that possible?).
So, should I manually scrub it with some steel wool, tumble it, or just shoot it?

Ammo is going to be stable in there. I think those holes in the tumbler bowl were there when I bought it.[LOL]
