Thanks for the Wall Street link. Good article. I do see this as a way to bail out Denver schools. Jeffco and Cherry creek have raised property taxes to improve Education and Denver has not, now they want everyone else to help them

Denver's property taxes are already high, especially on business property.
They have been spending tons of money on ads to promote 66. Let's hope people can see through the bullshit and vote no ... but I have a feeling it's going to pass because "it's for the children"
There is already a large amount of the regular state budget which is allocated to schools out of the general fund. The little white lie of earmarked funds like those proposed by 66 is that yes - all the money collected under 66 will go to the schools, but....
The legislature then reduces that exact amount of funding for schools from the general fund.
Net result? Your new "school tax" just creates a big pool of pork barrel money for the pols to piss away from the general fund.
You can vote in person, if you want, and you can do it in "advance" of election day, at least in my area (and I think you are nearby).
I went by the Pecos/122nd "Polling Place" today to get a replacement ballot (I checked one too many in one of the sections).
Instead I just voted in person, using their computerized voting system.
I voted no on 66 and yes on AA.
1. Amendment 64 is supposed to raise money to go to schools
2. Budget bills shouldn't be an amendment to the Constitution, they should be their own law.
And guess who donated $2M...Bloomberg.

Whatever my other thoughts, a bloomie endorsement had me voting no on 66 and AA.
Make money off the weedies with sales tax like any other product they buy - don't need a supertax.
