I don't know what, if any, types of "drug" options a typical team might have available.
That's why I was trying to find out--- if "drugs/tranquilizers" are part of a field med kit ( Is morphine in the kit? perhaps for pain management of severe injuries etc. ?) or made available to teams of this sort in other ways, from those of you that have "been there" and "know first hand".

I was not trying to indicate the team was stupid, or that "I know better".
I just wanted to know "could it have been a viable option to drug them".

To your point, maybe I should give "Q" a ring and ask him ?

Only thing I've had in my kit that might fit the bill to ko someone like that would be fentanyl. That's just a mess of ethics however IMO

Sure seems goat herders have fugged up more operations than Murphy.

I read the book, the team didn't have many options. They chose to abide by the Law of Armed Conflict and their mercy bit them in the butt but I suspect it did a lot for the US by demonstrating the quality of our warriors. The men were heroes even more in my eyes for making that choice.

Meh. They were overconfident. Typical SEAL who drank their own koolaid.

I've been meaning to read the book, but will probably see the movie before I get to it. These types of movies are better on the big screen.

It would be a big mess to operationalize and actually use, IMO. I would not recommend fentanyl for this application.
