Happens to everyone. I had a FedEx package going from Texas to Colorado and it went to New Jersey, bounced around there a couple of days even hitting one facility twice at which point "Exception " appeared on the tracking page and I had it in my hands the next day with overnight stickers all over it.Quote:

In the 1996 elections, I was stationed in Maryland. I mailed my absentee ballot back to Colorado about 3.5 weeks before Election Day. It was delivered two weeks later ... to my townhouse in Maryland! So I walked the ballot back down to the Post Office, a mere 0.75 miles from the house, and mailed it out again, noting the TO address for the Clerk & Recorder's Office and my address in the FROM box. A few days after Election Day ... yep, found the same ballot back in MY mailbox.

This has happened to me 3 times with fedex. When expecting a package I was home ALL day and watching the tracking until the tracking showed up that they attempted delivery at 5:__ PM when I was home. Didn't even see a fedex truck drive by.Quote:

UPS guys run from truck to my door, ring doorbell, drop package and run back to truck, always.

I have had miserable luck with USPS. Lots of lost packages with no explanation or interest in tracking them down. UPS has gone down hill a bit too. FedEx is my go to for shipping, best online tools, tracking and error response.
Recently needed an overnight envelope sent from Colorado to Chicago. The wife said USPS overnight was a few bucks cheaper. I told her to use FedEx, but didn't want to fight about it. She sent it USPS. The guaranteed 24hr delivery took 5 days, and then it took another 4 days to get reimbursed for failure of service. Miserable, just miserable.
FedEx certainly isn't perfect, but of the options....
Love seeing "Photos - Do Not Bend." ...And USPS bends them.
As for FedEx, my mom sent a care package to my sis at college (probably ~7-8 years ago or so, so not exactly recent). This was from Colorado to LA. It went missing for a few days, only to turn up in Pennsylvania on the day it was supposed to be delivered. ...They then sent it back by _truck_, meaning it got there quite late (she was then home for the holidays). ...Brilliant!
Well, I went to the main post office in town here this morning with my tracking number and was told "it's still in transit". Boulder -> Kansas -> Denver -> Dallas.....theoretically en route to Denver.
Last week the USPS driver tossed a laptop power-supply at my front door hard enough to put a dent in a solid wood door....even though it only weighed 9oz and was in a bubble envelope. While sitting indoors, it sounded as if someone had thrown a rock at the door. I quickly ran to the door, opened it, and the USPS van sped away. Just peachy.
