Stupid postal employees

I live in a condo in a neighborhood of several hundred units...my front porch became the drop spot for any package that USPS, UPS, and FEDEX couldn't find the actual address. That went on for 1 summer...then stopped as quickly as it started.

On the other hand my USPS carrier cannot be bothered to knock or ring the doorbell when they are required to get a signature. I will be sitting on the couch 5 feet from the door and they will leave a sorry we missed you card on the door.

Most work 10-12 hrs without even a bathroom break or lunch. Average pay for their delivery route pays for only 7.5-8 hrs... not the actual hours worked. A lot of these carriers would welcome getting fired so they could draw unemployment pay and not have to work their tails off.

Working long hours is no excuse for not doing your job. People who do a half ass job just because they worked a long day don't deserve any slack. Employees need to do what's expected of them and do their best to do it right or get a new job.

Delivering mail to the right address and closing the box is not hard and the failure to do so is simply incompetence.

I have zero input as to how you go about filling a complaint and while I'm sure it won't do any good, I say do it. Worth a shot.

And you wonder how the USPS had a $5 Billion, that's right, $5 Billion loss last fisical year.........

When I delivered pizzas, I was expected to deliver them to the correct address, and with the box closed.

Exactly! They had a long day??? Give me a break. Try running a 14hour convoy, in a combat zone, with 3hrs of prep, and then 2hrs of post operation PMCS, gear cleaning, and item inventory. USPS employees have it fvcking MADE!

Because of stuff like this, All my bills are now online. I get nothing of importance from the mail anymore. An occasional letter from the SS admin saying how much I've paid and what my expected benefits would be, but nothing I couldn't live without.

I would check the box once or twice a week, but it is on of the shared community kiosk type, which I am surprised they haven't changed everyone in the metro areas to.

I'm working in this direction. I currently pay all of my bills online but I still get paper copies in the mail showing me when they are due and how much I owe. Trying to ween myself off the paper. Lol.

Their Postal Workers Union runs the USPS.
Anytime you complain their first response is, "OK, then we'll just keep your mail at the post office then you have to come and pick it up"
We had a mail person with a real attitude. She used to delight in driving down the street gutter and throwing slush up onto a freshly shoveled sidewalk. The slush would freeze and couldn't do anything with it until next afternoon. She said she didn't have time to slow down.

I have had a running stream of postal workers delivering mail to my business over the last 17 years. Of the 9 or ten that were assigned to the route, basically one didn't seem to be pissed off/apathetic/downright nasty about having to do their job. The Postal service pays fairly well, has union benefits, and nearly invincible job security. In addition, being a government run corporation, they don't have to run it like a business, so employee compensation isn't tied to performance.
