Lived in Hastings for four years thanks to the Air Force. Hate the state as a whole, but always thought the Hastings area was nice. Did a lot of bird hunting out there....and always thought that Blue Hill would make a nice place to retire to.

wait a sec, have you not looked around denver at all? hell the last few tanner shows i have done were freak shows compared to any weirdness i have seen in Nebraska. also you basically drove right past my store and museum on your way into iowa, stop on by next time [Flower]
I have a good buddy who graduated from Hastings College. He loved it out there. Visited him the year after he graduated and love the town. The hunting camp at the old depot was awesome. Turned one of the storage buildings into a pretty sweet little club house/bar, and the skeet range was awesome. I might go up there one year for bird hunting...
Don't worry about Ray, he's just mad because the gas station he went to was sold out of Cheetos. Nebraska isn't so bad. Besides, they don't have any pro teams, that's why they all are so hardcore Huskers fans.
I'd rather be in NE than KS any day. It took me several visits and about three years before I found a good steak house in Omaha: The Drover.
And they do love their team. And if you drive the secondary roads, the pick up truck drivers wave to each other.
Great thunderstorms roll through Omaha as well, very entertaining for the out of staters. The Holiday Inn makes a great bacon cheeseburger.
Last few years Nebraska has had better bird hunting compared to Kansas. I still would love a section in either state for hunting. Colorado farmers have yet to get a clue about fence line to fence line planting and over grazing their land. The education is happening but at such a slow pace.
