Ditto. I like to look people in the eye.

No reason to second guess yourself on this one. I have done the same thing myself on two occasions in the past.
Enjoy the day with your family.
You did the right thing. At a traffic stop I always leave enough space between me and the vehicle in front in case I need to evade. It's never happened, but I have the option. Call me a pessimist, but after getting screwed over by people by me being a Good Samaritan, I treat everyone I don't know as if they have AIDS.
If I had been in your shoes, my heart would have been pounding pretty fast. I don't know that a gun would have helped the situation. Good job on making the right choice! Have a wonderful holiday. :)
So, Ray, that was you. Thanks a lot for the help. While rushing the wife to the hospital, that unexpectantly went into labor, my car blew a tire and went into a ditch & got stuck.
I wasn't prepared for the weather due to the emergency, so I pulled my hood up and put my hands in the front pockets to stay warm.
When I saw a pick up pull up to the traffic signal, I ran up to it shouting "call an ambulance, my wife is having a baby ! "
But as I got close, the pick up roared off through a red signal nearly running my toes over........
Just joking Ray,[LOL]. You don't need a CCW to have a handgun in your car for self protection.
Go take a SouthNarc class.
