There was an article in The Atlantic or some such publication chronicling how hard his family had been trying to lay low off the grid. The incident basically upended the lives of his entire immediate family. From what I gather, George realized that no matter what he tried to do, he was never going to be able to evade the attention of a nation, so he basically just said, "Fuck it." He's trying to live a normal life because he feels like he'll just burn himself out trying to disappear.
In my unpopular opinion, by the rule of law, he legally defended himself. However, my caveat to that is that George was an equal participant in the events that led to his assault. I know first hand about these ramifications, as I've discussed previously. The difference is that George has not learned to avoid those situations at all costs. Like I said in response to HoneyBadger, I think he's just given up on trying to stay off the grid and is putting himself in a position to fail on a regular basis.

…”Mr. Apperson did intentionally fire into the vehicle, occupied by George Zimmerman, without provocation”…
One count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
One count of aggravated battery with deadly weapon.
One count of firing deadly missile into an occupied vehicle.
Zimmerman needs to carry a camera recording everything anytime he goes out. There are thousands of people out there that dream of becoming a hero by killing him. The only way he is going to avoid these situations is to never leave his house and have no contact with anybody.
One account of firing a deadly missle into an occupied vehicle?
holy crap where can I get one of those?
Unfortunately I think at this point he's a part of the problem. I get a little tired of the "martyr" status he has. He never done anything great or worth note. He was just involved with a shooting that had some odd circumstances ( getting out of car when he was told to stay in it, no imminent danger, etc ) He isn't having most of his trouble with strangers, but girlfriends and other known people. None of us know this guy, he may just be a jerk who likes to find trouble. He could easily of disappeared into the crowd somewhere. The country has a short attention span and memory ( as long as your name doesn't pop up every few months on the news ). If Casey Anthony can disappear with the whole country hating her, he should be able too.
