If I could get it, I would take the Hollywood model 94 Winchester in 30-30, or maybe 1873 in 45-70, never have to reload.

Original S Hawken.
The epitome of the percussion cap "Plains" pattern rifle.
Utilitarian, simple yet graceful and sexy.

The derringer Booth used to kill Lincoln.
As I understand the question, it's not "what gun would you choose if you could only have one gun?", it's "what gun would you add to your collection if you could have anything you want?".
It's an interesting question. From a financial perspective, I'd want the personal firearm of Wyatt Earp, Billy the Kid, or Al Capone. You know, something with wild collector value.
From the perspective of a gun I would actually shoot, I'd likely choose an AI AX of some sort.
Thinking of guns I've just always wanted to own, I'd love a Thompson SMG, specifically probably the M1928A1, though I'm no expert. To be of real interest, my dream Tommy would had to have served on D-Day.
Ol' Painless.
