If I was "back home" with the family,
"So how's it feel to be out of jail?"
"Can I get you a beer, or is your PO checking?"
"Will you ever get your license back?"
"Did they take your guns, or just make you give them away?"

Good thing we have another place to go so I can get a decent meal.
"I'm gay.....pass the gravy."
Thankfully my siblings live in different states than I do. I'm 9 years younger than my sister and 6 years younger than my brother. The stage of life my parents were in during my pre and teen years was very different than what they experienced, plus we moved cross country when I was 12 and they were both already out of the house. My father grew much more conservative and my mom a little bit so. Both of the sibs are far left libs. We don't discuss politics or religion let alone gun stuff.
I love them both but we know to keep these items off the agenda when we do get together. There's nothing we wouldn't do for each other but still, no go on those topics. Thankfully my sons and daughter in law are very close to me in all terms. Turkey day will be at the older's home with his wife, her mother, the world's most wonderful 2 yr old little boy and my younger son (before he has to be to work by 5:30p!!-damn retail world). We will have a good time together.
