Went to BC and spent a week in Whistler, the skiing location for the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. There were a lot of structures going completely unused, surrounded by chain link fencing.

Colorado?s Governor-Elect Jared Polis, also a Democrat, has said he would not support bringing the Olympics to Colorado. In a June debate on 9NEWS,?Polis said?he didn?t think Denver should even continue pursuing a bid.
?These are like fun things for millionaires and business people but it leaves the rest of us with the debt and the price tag,? Polis said.
At least Polis got this right...
Polis gets alot more right than people want to give him credit for but his switch on gun control in the last election cycle blew it for me. Hopefully it was a convenient public stance change in exchange for votes for him and when the rubber meets the road he reverts to his post sandy hook stance of it's not guns but mental health side shows up again. Time will tell.
I'm glad it won't be Denver....but I am sad for SLC. I really like that city.
SLC...way too close for comfort. Then again I may be in an old folks home by then and it won't matter.
Good, glad it isn't here. Summit county is already getting ruined by all the jack ass tourists and recent imports. Absolutely the last thing this state needs is more damn people in the high country.
SLC has already hosted a Winter Olympics in 2002.
