This is the first launch of what will be the first US-made, man-rated space vehicle since the days of the (bloated, stupid) shuttle.
If SpaceX passes all of the tests to man-rate Dragon*, this will be a really big deal for US spaceflight.
*They will.
Coming up on the 50th Anniversary of Apollo 11 landing the Eagle on the moon.
It is cycling back to exciting times!
