I've been wanting to do one of these ever since I found out about them. I've never even seen one though, and I have no idea what gear is needed and which rifle would be most appropriate. Are there videos I can watch to get an idea of what to expect for next time?
To be honest, not knowing anything about them has kept me from signing up.
Here's a vid from my tactical rifle match. It's very similar. Then again I do the stage designs for both along with Hoser for the state match. Hoser and I both run a tactical rifle match. There are some vids of Hoser's match archived on my site also.

Most people use a basic 16-18 inch AR and 30 round mags. 1-4/6/8 scopes are common. A few people use a dot and fewer use irons. Some pueblo shoot in He-Man division which requires a 308 or 30-06.
Seans match (Ramah) differs from mine (Pueblo) in that targets my stages start at 100 yards, go out to 300 yards and are all steel where Seans match they start at 3 yards, go out to 200 yards and are a mixture of paper and steel.
I normally tell people to bring 200 rounds to a match and bring 3-4 mags and have a mag pouch or two on their belt.
My wife reminded me that June 26th is my youngest son's birthday and then started at me daring me to say something smart. I came up blank.
Next time, and I appreciate the information.
Last chance to get in.
Next weekend is game day.
Well, we made it. Other than the wind drama, it was a pretty nice day. At the range with friends doing a little shooting.
We cant say enough good things about our match sponsors. Thunderbeast Arms, AccuFire Optics, Traust Bags, Burris Optics and DCF Guns. PLEASE send them an email to say thank you so they will do it again next year. Even better, also tell the world how cool they are on their social media pages.
Lost and found... If you left a metal water bottle at the range, get in touch with me to claim it. And if you left some ear muffs at the range, get in touch with me to claim it.
As a side note, it rained at the range last night. It quickly turned into a mud pit and the range caretaker closed the range this morning.

Lastly, thank you to the set up crew and my staff for making it all happen.
See you next year.
Hurry up and get signed up. The longer you wait, the more expensive it gets for you and the harder you make it on match staff.
