I owned second generation Glocks and put many, many thousands of rounds through them with absolutely zero malfunctions of any kind. I recently acquired a XD45 and will test the reliability of it for myself. As time allows, I will shoot the thing and report back here with good or bad results. I always wanted a Glock in 45 ACP but they just don't fit my hand. The XD fits quite well and I got a heck of a deal on it.

It's an XD9.
ive had the xd in 9mm and .45 and i just loved them, i never had any problems with either. i sold them to get another gun i wanted more and would buy a xd again with out thinking. p.s im a glock guy from my first gun ever being a glock
Getting off the Chevy vs Ford debate and back to the OP's original question. There are several XD9s for sale in the FS section. My guess is it's cyclical. Your looking for 9mm, there is nothing. Your looking for .45, there is nothing. :rolleyes::D
OK. Looks like I should have Friday off. Will drag the XD to the range and put a few rounds through it and see how it does. Will report my impression of it afterwards. [Beer]
Well, I only had time to put 100 rounds through it today. The picture below is the first 20 rounds shot at 10 yards. Not too bad considering I had never shot the thing before. I fired some rounds at 25 and 50 yards as well after I got a better feel for the gun but quite a few shots were simply fired into the backstop because I was simply testing for function. I had no malfunctions of any kind. Overall I am rather happy with the XD. It points well, fits my hand well, is reliable, and accurate enough for its intended purpose. It also has the nicest factory trigger I have felt on any striker-fired handgun.

I had an XD45. I had two issues with it.
First I had a few Jams that i Blame on Crappy Reloads, once I started shooting store bought no problems.
Second when i sold it to my buddy I was cleaning it and the barrel fell out of battery when reassembling it. Took us the better part of an hour to put it back together.
Other than that i loved it.
Glocks, I hate them so much I put one on layaway at sportsman's warehouse. :)
I did this for two reasons. It was a RTF 17 and it felt better in my hand. And Glocks are the 350 (motor) or the gun world. They make everything, and anything for them, and i mean everything. Grips, metal frames, Stocks, WTF stocks? Its awesome.[Beer]
I too had reload issues with some that I didnt crimp the case correctly, on my XD 45. My first impression was the best groups I have ever shot with a new pistol. I liked it so much I picked up an OD XDM 9mm.

Love the gun and since I am lefty the ambidextrous features of the XD is why I chose that route since glocks suck in that area. Shot both though and they are very comparable and overall great guns!
