Reloading .300 Win Mag (I can spin the bullet in the case after seating, how do I correct this?)

One day later and a set of borrowed RCBS dies Success. Now I just need to see what was my issue with the other dies.

Yes but the neck sizing die by itself leaves the rest of the case alone and it fits your chamber instead of resizing the entire case. You have to have fired the cases in your chamber to utilize the neck sizing die by itself as I understand it.

It's that F'n Lee FCD. Toss that POS in the trash. It's a solution looking for a problem, and causes more problems than it will ever be able to cure. The FCD squeezes the case and neck to ensure the reloaded round will chamber. The problem is it can actually squeeze the bullet loose and cause set-back issues. The reason you didn't get the bullets falling in the case is the crimp was deep enough to stop the bullet from falling into the case.

I shoot 7mm mag and 300 mag regularly and never crimp the rounds. Test rounds in your magazine to see if they get pushed back in the case a little from recoil. I highly doubt they will with just regular neck tension. Crimping is a great thing for revolvers, tube fed mags, and military belt fed ammo, but pretty much sucks for accuracy and is not needed on everything else.

They were spinning in the cases before I ever used the FCD. I used the FCD to see how far I would have to crimp down to stop the spinning as a result you see the ridiculous crimp in the first picture.

Then your resizing die was not resizing the neck to loading spec for whatever reason.

FCD is still going to be a problem if you use it. Stick to the Redding for seating and don't crimp unless absolutely necessary and then as little as possible.

When you re sizing your cases and you run the brass into the die the case mouth and neck are sized down to under spec. Then when you lower the brass out of the die you pull that expander ball through the neck of the brass. That ball should be a couple of thousandths less than your bullet diameter. This is what creates the tention that holds your bullet in place. Take the decapping rod out of your FL resizing die and make sure the ball is clean. Also make sure that it is smooth. A ruff one will build up with brass and next thing you know the ball is bigger than it should and bullets drop into the case like your talking about. May want to polish it a little. Will make pulling it through the neck of the brass much easier. Also you are lubing the inside of the case neck with something right? No lube and a ruff button will load up with brass really fast.
