Sunday rest day
What program do you use to log your runs and routes? I use Runnersworld.com (I was banned from the forums though). You can select shoes too, so I know almost exactly how many miles my expensive running shoes have on them.
I dontuse a program. I write my time and miles on the calender everytime I run. I dont know what miles I have on my shoes either. I go by feel with my shoes not miles. When they start to feel flat I switch. I can say my current training shoes have about 35 miles on them. they were my race shoes from last year so 13.1 plus some break in miles and my training so far this year. I buy 2 pairs of shoes at a time. 1 set to train with 1 to race. thankfully the shoe I like is still made and REI is blowing them out cheap. So I will be getting 2 new pairs soon.
I've only ever had one pair of nice running shoes, and they don't have enough miles on them to replace them yet. I just thought it was cool to know how many miles I have on them.
The cool thing about the logs is that it automatically calculates your calories, pace, and VO2 max. The only one I ever really cared about was pace, but I still thought it was always cool.
I bought a watch last year that tells me all kinds of info. It tells me current pace, distance, calories burned, and it has a heart rate monitor feature that I dont use. It has way more functions than I use but it makes my life easier. My favorite feature is the virtual buddy. You tell it the pace you want to run and it tells you where you are compared to set pace. so if i slow a little it will show I am x amount of time behind and x amount of distance behind my buddy . Its great for my solo runs.
I hear that people like running with that Nike thing that you put on your shoe. It tracks your pace, plots your run, and sends you messages about distance and pace through your Ipod (interupts the song to report info). I think it is called the Nike + or something.
I have heard of it. Heard that it works good but the sensor doesnt last long. I hear the battery in it lasts 30-60 hours before needing replacement even though Nike says 1000 hours. I will stick to my Garmin watch. Recharge it every 4or 5 days and its good to go
Back from team run. Its amazing how hard you will push yourself when chasing people half your own age[ROFL1]
