My parents have had serious issues with many species of woodpeckers since my dad had the house built.
The fake owls (even those with motion sensors that hoot when motion is sensed) did absolutely no good.
You can only shoot so many of them and you'd better know which species you're shooting at since many are federally protected.
I like the idea of the scare spider since it combined motion with the sound it produces.
I REALLY like the idea of the wasp spray.
Good luck. I've lost more sleep to noisy woodpeckers in my life than I have to an amorous spouse.
If you're going to shoot 'em, live by the rule of 3-S we have out this way:
1) Shoot
2) Shovel
3) Shut up
All kinds of troublesome critters fall victim to this rule out here in ranch country.
