Don't know of any shops but I have a 65 mustang more restomoded than restored. I have some extra parts laying around if you need some during your build.
I am driving my 66 coupe that I just dropped a 302 into. I love it and I am having very few problems with it too. The drive shaft vibrates when I hit 70 mph and I think the old rear end may out live us all. But its never really had power to it either so it maybe newish.
The floor pan should be bought first so the guy welding can cut out just what he needs and nothing else. It shouldn't take five years to do though. It can be cut and rewelded in a weekend and back on the road by monday. Just make sure to seal it up really good. The seams and the exposed metal. That way rust won't be an issue for a long time. A mud flap of some sort will keep all the salt off the floor pan too.
You're the second person to notice and comment on that lathe. That thing is huge. I think he said it was from the 30's but I don't remember.Quote:

I used to run a BIG lathe- 3' swing and 15' long bed for BIG pump shafts. Chips it threw were about an inch square and 1/8" thick! Get one of those hot blue bastards down you shirt! "So you think you can dance" aint got nuthin on what you do when that happens!
