So you need to keep that in mind when putting work into it. How long will this car last me?
Do i want to put money into my or guns?
Is this my pride and joy or a commuter?
Id say its both my pride and joy and commuter. Its my first car, and not only my first car, but I moved from Florida to Colorado by myself and went out on my own and bought my first car and I think I did a damn good job of getting my monies worth. My Father has said several times how proud he is of me when it came to getting this car and my move out here and it is a symbol of that. So yes it is worth it to me. The car is a Honda and in good shape and I want to make it look pristine. I dont want to sink money into it that could go elsewhere, but just some minor fixing up and it will look like its 2004 again.
All I want is to pop out the little hail dents and touch up the scratches or dings from gravel in the front.
Anyone know anything about auto trade schools if they do such work?
I would be down to pay them to take my 1997 silverado and paint it up. I would even do a COar15 bolt face logo on the hood, maybe a punisher skull on the tailgate, whatever they wanted!
Man, you guys are scaring me with these prices! I've gotta do a full-blown p/j on my Willys CJ5 one of these days, I'll be having it blasted to bare metal and done up right. I sure as hell wasn't thinking about $5000! Been a helluva long time since I painted anything though, just Harleys back in the early 80's.
Back in my yoot, we'd just roll our shit outside and spray it in the driveway. And used motor oil was dumped along the fence to kill weeds. I think I'd go to jail for this now, and I've heard you can't even buy acrylic lacquer paints nowadays? Izzat right?
My neighbor is a young Czech dude and does car painting, so he's my ace in the hole for painting the Heep. I've got a rotisserie to put the tub on so we can do the bodywork in my garage and get it ready, and he's got access to a booth. I'll have the tub and all the sheetmetal parts soda blasted at Blast Tech first.
