Tebow = Loss
Orton = Loss

Agreed. But it should have begun on Game 1. That dude had competition in his blood. It shows on the field. Who cares if his "mechanics" aren't perfect. The guy gets the team and the crowd fired up. That's something you can't coach as you said. Orton is a stick in the mud compared to the energy Tebow creates.
The entire team needs to rebuild. Tebow needs to be in being built up along with the rest of the team. Orton will never get any better than he is now. This season is almost certainly lost so start planning for the future and get your future star on the ball and on the field so he's ready when the future comes.
I have been saying for a while, we can sink or swim with Teboner, With Orton we can only tread water (although now we know he cant even tread water)
If nothing else it was great to see exciting Bronco football, its been a while.
with all the choices for rookie quarterbacks in the last couple of drafts why did we wind up with either ones of theses guys.
look at all the talent that has come out of NCAA in the recent past.
who the hell is choosing our team for us?
we have had five reasonably crappy quarterbacks while guys like rivers and manning and rothlesberger (how ever you spell it?), and rogers (just to name a few) have all come out of college and been successful.
still i say the team is the issue not who is behind the center. the team as whole is just not meshed together. the defense gives up yardage like it's on sale, especially last week, 600 plus yards and 49 points, the front line looks like swiss cheese.
why did we not do more running yesterday? Mcgahee was moving the ball. let him pound it down the field.
also where was the downfield passing? if everything we throw is ten yards or less how do we expect to spread out the defense and gain some yards?
we play like we are trying not to lose, not playing like we are here to win.
the play calling sucks, the execution is sloppy, and having tebow in there won't make a difference unless the rest of the team comes around.
As for tebow, it is not just his mechanics that are the issue. A running QB in the NFL has a very short career ahead of him. they are trying to keep him out until he learns how to play the game like an NFL QB, playing like you are still in college or high school will get you killed in the pros.
personally i think he is built and has the athletic ability to be a great tight end receiver. good hands and decent speed.
The thing is there, that Tebow has the the factor of unpredictability. He will improve the Bronco's running game as much as anything. Like others have said, his energy is contagious. You could see it in the other guys on the field as well as the fans, that spells WIN. I say, give the kid a chance.
There's no letter tebow in the word team although he did do much better than orton
Michael Vick isn't dead...
The dude is nearing 5,000 rushing yards in 9 years. He now has the NFL single season QB rushing record AND career QB rushing record. I don't think anyone will say he's had a short career or that his 9 year career is nearing an end (even after a 2 year hiatus). His ratings the last 3 seasons are the best he's ever had.
But Tebow of course isn't Vick so if they don't want him to be a running QB then the only way he'll learn that is actually playing. Practice on scout team offense is not NFL experience.
As you said, the whole team needs work. Let them all work together and build the team as one with your future QB.
i agree he has enthusiasm, four of the worst passes i have ever seen coming straight out the box.
vick is good, vick is not the norm, maybe tebow is another vick maybe he is not.
that being said i saw at least opportunities for Orton to take off and get a few yards and he just didn't react. looking for the receiver rather than seeing a big a.. hole to run through.
orton definitely played like crap. i think he is feeling the pressure of all the negative crap from the tebow fans.
I just don't see his potential being a winning QB for ten years with that playing style. I could be totally off base here, maybe he will prove me wrong in which case i will gladly admit it.
and where will his popularity be when he has gone 9 years without a superbowl victory like Vick,
on another note, the eagles have already had on scare about losing vick to injury this season. playing like you are invincible can leave your team in the lurch.
look at it from the broncos side, 6.5 million a year for a third stringer. if he was ready why not play him?
they obviously see something that is more important to them than just putting him in to get him snaps.
