Apples to Oranges Ranger, as Byte noted all the TP rallies were lawfully permitted and they had been planned and had consulted with official entities. They also had a clear and concise message.
Total contrast to what equates to disorganized squatters.
We all have the right to voice disapproval, but the way you present it speaks volumes and either discounts or adds credibility to ones cause.
You want to see a good illustration in contrast? Look at the photos of the Washington Monument and WWII Veterans Monument in DC after Beck's "Restore Courage" rally last year.
Then look at photos of the same places after the gathering that was led by Al Sharpton and crew shortly thereafter.
I will agree that Wall Street and Corporate greed have devastated our country and economy but the REAL problem lies with the policies and tax structure that allow the above mentioned to run rampant, encourage outsourcing and operate with impunity.
I was at one of the bigger Tea Party rallies about 2 years ago. No streets were blocked, no tents were staked, there were no arrests, we cleaned up the area ourselves and left it cleaner than before we were there.
The Tea Parties got permits, paid for insurance and security, left when the permitted time was up and were polite to the police and cleaned up their mess.
More and more I'm convinced that the "there ain't no difference between the two parties" line is a myth designed to make us apathetic and stop pushing for positive political change. Just shut up and eat our peas.Quote:
We need to wake up and understand that Dem and Rep are myths. It is white noise to keep us fighting one another while both sides rob, steal, pillage our country and suck the marrow from our bones.
thieves and crooks, both lots.
the only difference is the lie they tell
They aren't public servants, they are self servant. Neither party has had the public interest at heart for a very long time.
When the parties lost focus and put their own survival and benefit above that of the people the failed to realize that, only by placing the well being of the people above their own would their survival be assured.
No, you haven't seen a manifesto from any of these "Groups", because they aren't that coherent. There have been a lot of individuals calling for a wide variety of things... quite a few of those things being full on retard. Not all of it, though.
One of the more interesting bits of this is watching how it evolves over time. Starting to see internet-scale speed meeting meatspace reality. Should be interesting.
And as for civil disobedience, it has it's place and time. If they want to make their stand now, I'm not going to criticize them for standing up for what they believe... even if they haven't quite decided that part.

Does anyone else feel that there are unseen puppeteers whipping up a maelstrom of discontent here to distract us from another agenda? Or perhaps they are just winding up the spring to turn it loose for more hopey-changey crap in the coming election cycle? Unfocused frustration and anger often expresses itself in unpredictable and unforeseen ways.
As an aside, if the idiots that are protesting for the sake of protesting put half as much energy into finding and keeping productive jobs as they do into whining about their lot in life, they would probably find that their lot in life didn't suck nearly as much.
Short version: Suck it up, put on your big girl panties, and DO something with your lives. Those of us that work for a living and live within our means are sick and tired of listening to you halfwits whine about how you've run up a quarter million dollars in debt to spend 8 years to get an associate degree in neoclassical art appreciation. Get a friggin job already...
/friday morning caffeine deprived rant
1- My thoughts as well, it doesnt take a whole lot of connect the dots to figure out that Left leaning organizations are stoking the fires-Moveon.org, SEIU, .gov etc to the "Occupy" movement. What is interesting is the fact that the decision to put the Kabosh on this was fairly universal across the board. Makes me think as the message and impetus of the "Occupy" crowd started to tangent more from Wall St to a Pennsylvania Ave gripe that those in certain high places saw this starting to work against them and a universal foot was put down.
2 and 2A- H Caine put it best- "If you dont have a job and your not a millionaire, don't blame Wall Street or the banks, blame yourself"
