Send them to my house. I have full coverage on my truck. It's 18 years old and I am probably due for a new one anyways. [Coffee]
if you kill someone breaking into your car you are guilty of murder.....chances are it was just someone lost....i dont think car thieves are scouting cars like gone in 60 seconds most are just targets of opportunity
CRS don't allow you to use your gun to protect your property. Keep the guns (and the testosterone) out of this.
You're insured, right? Seems to me, the courts will take that fact into consideration if you run out to protect your car and end up getting into a gunfight.
Next time, lead the guys to a public place (or better yet, a cop shop) and get out of your car there.
Something that car thieves should have to consider, not car owners.
No I'm not suggesting you kill someone over your car, but I'm not convinced that thieves should have the protection of the law like they do.
Most folk don't have full coverage insurance on their cars and theft of an uninsured car can be financially devastating to some folk and as such getting caught stealing a car should also be devastating.
Once upon a time we hung horse thieves. Just sayin'
Also being armed while checking on your car is not so you can kill someone trying to steal it, its for defending yourself if stumble across a thief and he takes umbrage at your accusations.
Yes officer I took my gun outside with me to see what was going on after I heard noises, I thought some one might be trying to steal my car. Officer responds sir why would you think that. I was followed home earlier and I figured they might be back to break into my car. Did you make a report? No why not? I did not get a plate number and a very good description of the car or the occupents. Why didnt you just call the police if you thought your car was being stolen? Cause I have my trusty 1911 and decided to take the law into my own hands and hold them at gun point until you got here, then one of them pulled out a gun so I shot him. Officer responds place your hands on top of your head and interlace your fingers you are under arrest. can we say premeditated.
LOL. That's the attitude that politicians like.
"Yes officer, I heard some strange noises outside that sounded like someone breaking into a car. I own the most expensive car on the lot and was concerned it might be mine they were after, so I went to check it out."
"Why did you bring your gun?"
"I have a valid CCW permit... here it is, sir... and I felt it would be unwise to go outside at night to possibly interrupt criminals in the middle of a car theft unarmed. They are criminals, after all, obviously with no regard for their fellow man."
"And then you shot the victim, correct?"
"Yes, officer. I was approaching my car and saw him sitting in the car with the door open and broken glass all over the ground. I yelled to him, 'Hey, get away from my car! I'm calling the cops!' and he jumped out of the vehicle and began raising his weapon towards me. In fear of my life and falling back upon the training I received in my ___ years of military service, I drew and fired until I felt he was no longer a threat. Then I called you."
"Thank you. We'll have to take your weapon for evidence, but it seems that you acted within your rights. You'll be receiving a call from our dept. in the morning concerning the legal case."
