Is it safe to assume anyone who chooses live in Boulder by their own free will is a hippie?
This is from Wikipedia.Quote:
The hippie subculture was originally a youth movement that arose in the United States during the mid-1960s
and spread to other countries around the world. The etymology of the term 'hippie' is from hipster, and was initially
used to describe beatniks who had moved into San Francisco's Haight-Ashbury district. Both the
words "hip" and "hep" came from African American culture and denote "awareness." The early hippies inherited the
countercultural values of the Beat Generation, created their own communities, listened to psychedelic rock, embraced
the sexual revolution, and some used drugs such as cannabis, LSD and magic mushrooms to
explore altered states of consciousness.
there are two kinds of hippies. the ones I like and the ones I don't.
The old school ones who are for personal rights, anti-.gov, and basically just want to be left alone and are happy to leave you alone. this is a dying breed. I like most of them that I have met.
Then there is the new age hippy with nasty dreadlocks, activist, doesn't shower, OWS style people...oh...and the libtard prius drivers. I truly hate them.
To me a hippy is someone with unrealistic beliefs of the government, environment,
drugs & alcohol and life in general as to allow them to
get away with anything they choose to do because of their belief that
they can do as they please as a free person without regard to others.
They feel the governement is after them and wont let them live their free lifestyle
even when that lifestyle infringes on anothers life. Feeling that people owe them
anything wether monetary or housing etc.
Anyone who feels that drugs are ok and that it should be free and given to them

"I shall not today attempt further to define the kinds of people I understand to be embraced within that shorthand description ["hard-core hippie"]; and perhaps I could never succeed in intelligibly doing so. But I know it when I see it...,[Emphasis added.]

That boyscout dude has a really nice holster.
Unless they make parts and accessories for AR-15 rifles, you might be right.
For me, hippie is aaahhm... It's not like someone being some kinda mmm... I don't know how to explain it... Well it's kinda the same thing as if I call someone a fag - it's not because that person is gay, it's just because that person is being faggot.
