Yes, the Brits consider the UK to be "West" in terms of "Western Civilization". In fact the British count themselves as one of the creators of "Western Civilization".

I see. Kinda like Illinois is in "the midwest." Called that when we didn't know any better.

I find it pretty interesting, and somewhat vindicating of our own attitudes, if the rest of the world hates them as much as we do.
