It wouldn't hurt to pop the panel(s) off the dryer and vacuum the built up lint out from the innards, that is where most dryer fires start It can be profitible too if pick out all the built up pocket change first. [Tooth]

Sadly when I was a landlord, part of the introduction to the cond was "this is a lint trap, clean it after every use". Worse yet was the hot little college chickies looking at me with the blank stare!

Electric motor burnt up. My mom's friend lost their house to something very similar but in the bathroom. Those things can be dangerous. Glad it wasn't bad.
